I am here in Boston. I have had my MRI, echo, EKG, pulmonary function test, and seen the cardiologist. I have not had any problem with my nerves until they greeted me when I work up this morning. The good news is they did not have to start an IV for the MRI this morning. YEAH! The bad news is they laid me on the table, put part of the testing equipment on my chest and then had me hold my breath multiple times during the test. I coughed so much during the test and had more trouble breathing. I almost lost it by the end of the test. I have had multiple MRIs without any problem. I was in tears by the time I was finished this time. Tomorrow I see the surgeon. Wednesday is pre-op day and then thursday is surgery.

Sending you very best wishes, Debbie. Hope your surgery goes smoothly and you have an easy recovery.

I must have missed it but in which Boston hospital are you having your surgery?

We'll wait to hear from you as soon as you are up to it.

The closer it gets, the more real it starts to be, especially when you're having tests done. It hit me 2 days before, when I had the pre-op stuff done. They offered me some ativan, or something similar, to take home with me, which I gladly accepted. When you go in for your pre-op, if it's not offered feel free to ask for it.

Don't feel bad about the tears. It's pretty normal. It's actually more scary before than it is after. I'm sure you'll do well, and we'll all look forward to hearing from you after your surgery.

Wishing you all the best!

Anybody heard any news on how Debbie's surgery last Thursday went? Hoping all's well. Looking forward to hearing about her progress. She'd had a rough patch with some of the pre-op testing.
