Hello VR.com friends,

It's been 25 years since we were last in Rome. Here we are at the romantic Trevi Fountain. We had a good flight over. We took a nap then went sightseeing. In the evening we met two new friends, Wayne and Steve, who will be on our cruise next week to Egypt and the Greek Isles. We did some more sightseeing then we had dinner at a really fine restuarant near the Piazza Navona. We can still pack a lot into a day! Tomorrow we take a tour of the Vatican. We'll get to see the beautiful Sistene Chapel.

Best wishes,

Jim & Dan

Seeing the two of you by the fountain of Trevi certainly brought back warm memories of Italy! I love that country.
Wow...and a cruise.It all sounds 'divine' ;)
Do send more pics!
Happy Holidays,

Beautiful place. I'll never see it in my lifetime, so yes, please share as many photos as possible. It's the only way I get a vacation. I so envy you being able to do these things. ;)

Hi Everyone,

Yes, we're on the road again...travelling in between my rounds with the cardiologist. Since I'm feeling well we're doing as much as we can before either my valve or the aorta goes south. Only going up steps and stuff like that I can't handle too well becuase I get winded.

Anyway, here's a couple of photos of the Pantheon, the great Roman temple to all of the gods. It's really beautiful inside too!

Since I will probably never get out of the USA I also love looking at your beautiful pictures. Have some good wine for me.

Seeing your Rome Italy pics brought back fond memories for me, as my wife Claudia and I spent 3 weeks there a while back...How did you sneak the pic of the Sistine Chapel..?
i tried, but promptly found a security guard's hand in my face.."no pictures, Sir"...
There is nothing old in our country like Italy...Yes, sorry Ross, not even you...lol

Hi Everyone

James, We were the first ones in the Chapel at about 8:15 Am and we were all alone except for one guard who didn't care!:)

Today we went back to visit St. Peter's Basilica. There is a line to get in now days because of security procedures similar to those at an airport. You have to put your bags and metal on a scanner and walk throough a device. But the line moves well.

The weather is beautiful but a bit H O T! Here's St. Peter's

The main altar...St. Peter is believed to be buried underneath. I liked all of the lit candles.

Finally, Michaelangelo's masterpiece, the "Pieta:"
