This is very good news for you!! Breathe!!!!!

Please consider staying with us while you wait! We affectionately call people like you our folks "in the Waiting Room". Now that this huge event has been planted into your psyche it is bound to hassle and confuse you while you wait for summer to arrive. Please remember that we have all been or are going through this and are so very happy to help support you through your journey. Someone is almost always around here, so don't be shy. We cater to all meltdowns and frustrations!

Best wishes!!

Hopefully during your wait for surgery, you will be able to line up help from some of the Moms in the school or from a church group. Maybe you'll have a chance to get to know your neighbors a little better and they may offer help.

It's good news your surgeon thinks you have time and it is not an emergency situation.
Best Wishes.

Jaimie,

I've got 4 kids They're mostly grown now, but I had some serious medical issues when they were young, so I understand the need to be The Mom, even when YOU need to be taken care of. I have a friend, though, who's a family therapist, and she reminded me of the emergency procedure speech that you always hear on airlines:

"In the case of an emergency, oxygen masks will drop from the ceiling. If you are traveling with someone who needs your assistance, be sure your own oxygen mask is in place first! Then you can help those with you."

The BEST THING you can do for your family is to do whatever it takes to get well. Then, you can go back to being Supermom.
