I've been absent, I apologize, but today during a yoga class it hit me that i'm feeling better than ever, so I wanted to post that life after heart surgery can be fantastic! The strongest thing in my body now is that little titanium valve (On-X) in my heart!

I'm working out, working through a divorce, have girlfriends, am working and am slowly learning that every single day is a gift, so enjoy it!

I went in with an aneurysm, a tight bicuspid valve and in need of one small bypass. Yikes!

But now I weigh 30 pounds less than my blimpo self of three years ago, eat just healthy foods, and feel so good slim that i don't miss the fat and sugar, etc. that chokes our bodies.

So anyone thinking about surgery, GO FOR IT! You'll be awed at the improvement.

:)

Glad everything is going well for you.
I'm ~5-1/2 weeks post surgery now; with a new on-x quietly ticking away. Today was my 1st day back at work and was on my feet for 1/2 the day. No problems with any fatigue issues but I was starting to get a little sore in the sternum; not used to so much constant movement yet.

Think I'll hold off on the yoga for a few more months :)

Thanks for the post.
I really have felt like crap for awile now, looking forward to healthier future.
It really has power when someone who has been there talks about what it can be like. Thanks Kman

thanks for the positive thoughts! It really helps to know/hear from other people who have been there, done that.
I hope to lose weight afterwards too. When were you able to exerice again - besides walking?

It's good to hear from you, Temp, and it's great that you are doing so well.
Best wishes for many more years of beautiful life.:)

Temp -

FYI, the ring around your valve may be titanium, but the 'working' parts are all made of Pyrolitic Carbon.

Thanks for the encouraging statement! My upcoming work is becoming easier and easier to accept as time draws near, and reading words like those only helps.
