Sorry people, I ran out of fields to enter. The only way to do it is to delete the poll and redo it, then I can get 5 more fields. :(

Tall people unite!

Right on, Melissa!!

I?m only a little over 6', but my son Ryan is 6' 8" ! Now talk about a hard time finding shoes.... he wears a 16 ½!! ...and shoes that size don?t come in ½ sizes! lol Poor kid. Really cuts back on decisions..... if they fit, we buy them. :D

My problem hasn?t been finding shoes so much as finding dress pants and jackets. I don't think they exist for a 6' tall girl, unless she weighs a couple hundred pounds.

Janie... ? You?re talking to girls who have the real thing..... :p we don?t do stilletos!! :D

It shouldn't have been. If anyone taunted you, I'd think they'd fear a crushing retribution from someone of your stature.

Silly Ross, it wasn?t getting taunted. We were taller than all the boys!!

Melissa, remember the school dances? I think was permanently traumatized.... I?ll always have a thing for dancing with tall men. :p

Add. one more, for retired homemakers.:p Been there, done that..:p :p Kids, gone. no more cooking..Make 1 bed..empty the dishwasher once every 2 days.. Housework makes you ugly...:D :D :D Retirement is soooo good.

Rain - you got it. . .the middle school dances were awful!! A few stores are starting to catch on and carry tall sizes: Lerner New York, The Limited, Eddie Bauer (catalog mainly), and JC Penny (again, mostly catalog).

As for stilettos. . .I don't mind wearing heels! Why not accentuate those long legs??? :p :p

Hey, Brad, you cutie pie. So nice to see your handsome face now and then. And you are in a poll all by yourself at 100% which makes you special, you know. Rock on and study hard. We are proud of you.

My little sister was 5'12" by the time she was in sixth grade. And soooo skinny, to boot. How she suffered.

When grandson was in kindergarten the school did computer checks on the kids and said Douglas would be a verrrry tall and big man. We chuckled becausehe was a short little square kid with big bones and no way was that going to happen. Well, he's in the same place as Ryan. He walks in the room and blocks out all the light!

Kevin, this poll is so interesting. I check it every time I come in to see what's what - and if our unemployed member got a job yet!

I notice Joe is retired, but Nancy isn't. Wives, mothers, house technicians never are.

Looking for some stilettos!

Isn?t that sorta like a 44EE woman wearing a padded bra?! :D

Thanks, Melissa. I?ll check out the stores you mentioned. I?ve found that even ?tall? stores consider ?tall? 5'8" to 5'11". :( Most of my jeans are 'Rockies'... have you wore them?

Hey Ann, I did the ?double your child?s height on their second birthday to see how tall they will be as an adult? on all three of my kids. It was right on for Eric and Ryan. Eric?s 5'11" and Ry is 6'8"......... If it works out for Sara she will be 6'.

I work full-time outside of the home and I work full-time at home with 2 kids still in the house.
Wish I was filthy rich because I wouldn't work if I didn't need the money and now, the health insurance. My endurance level has dropped a lot in the last few years. I go to bed at 9 pm after tucking my 10 yr. old in bed, up at 5:30 am "exercise". Wish I could take that climb up the mountain now so that I could go back to some semblance of a typical 48 yr. old life. This 9 pm bedtime is getting me down!

You girls are right although high school was traumatizing for me. I didn't get my growth spurt until then. Nothing worse than being the tallest kid in class and a "girl" at that! Stilletos??? I only wore them once when I dated a guy that was 6'8"! My hubby is 5'10". Did you ever wonder why the 5' women always got the 6' guys? Clothes are another problem. Most stores that carry anything do not carry "stylish" things and for shoes, I just ask for an attractive box! LOL
The docs told me I didn't have Marfans but had similar characteristics. My son is my height and I wonder if I should have him go get checked.
As for working, I was fortunate to be able to stay home with the kids when they were growing up. Now I just help my husband by doing paperwork at home for his business so I guess that is part time at home.

Where were all you tall girls when I was in high school? :p At six-four, most of my "goodnight kisses" back then landed on the top of their heads! :p ( I figured it out later....was a slow-learner....:p )
