Alicia had a good idea, so I decided to make a poll out of it. There should be more polls. We should poll everything!

Hey Kevin,
I am on disability right now but work full time outside the home.
I go back to the Card. on Oct. 30th to find out what is going to happen. So I don't know which button to check.

I work part-time, at home, for my husband's business. I don't draw a check but he insists I'm well-paid. (I am!)

In all seriousness, I truly COULD NOT go out each day and work part- or full-time and be sure of any endurance. So I don't know which box to check. Maybe you could add a few more options?

Al retired in l997 because he got a good buy-out from his company. His surgery, in October 1990, was scheduled four months in advance to give him time to do dental work and deal with other health things that might cause problems after valve implantation. He worked up until four days before surgery and returned to work six weeks later. Endocarditis from dental work, which was not diagnosed for three months contributed to the need for valve replacement..............Hard to put all that in a poll.

Blanche

Ross,

I originally voted 'full time out of the home'.

I'm currently on temporary short term disability, go back to full time work around Oct 27.

Corrected:Thanks Rob

I love polls too!!

I love polls too!!

Well, Rossman...... What if you work part time ?inside the home? and get a pay check for it... and work the rest of the time inside the home even harder... but no paycheck? Would you click ?full time? inside the home?? Or ?part time? inside the home? lol :D

Whaddya think Kev??

Hey, how about a poll on how tall people are and what their heart problem is? Is that too complicated for our polling system? It seems to me that most people with heart problems are tall people. Also, most of the people at the reunions are tall. Well Lorraine and Jan just had to be odd balls. :p:D

OK so what if.............

OK so what if.............

you work part time in the house? I checked off part time anyway.

And for Rain's curiosity of our heights I am 5-4 but wish I were taller. So I guess you can say I am kinda short. Thank goodness you aren't asking for our weight! LOL

Rain! Janie and I were just talking about height correlation and valve disorders". Some of us do appear to fit the "taller criteria"
You and I also have the 33mm size valve. Which I beleive is the largest size valve. I think you are an inch or so up on me though.

Does wishing I didn't have to work count?

I work full time, outside the home. But, somedays...well, somedays I wish I didn't have to work at all.... I'm sure most of us have that feeling at some point....

*shrugs*

Ah, well....life goes on....and nobody ever said life is fair..........

Well, I wish I didn't have to work either, Cort, but as long as I'm physically able I will be with the poll of working full-time outside the home.

BTW, You guys: Quit picking on me! Yeah I'm short and yeah I guess I'm an exception everywhere I go. Can't even get the merchandise off the high shelves in groceries stores! Now you TALL people would have no problem to get stuff off the lower shelves! :D

Have a real problem with TAll epople wanting to use my head as a arm rest! ;) I just duck and they almost keel over! Not my fault! I'm not a leaning stone!:D

Can't wait to meet some more TALL people in two weeks! Take care!

Tall people of the world unite - I am 6'1 and little old ladies come from three aisles away to ask me to get something off the top shelf for them. . .:D :D :D Finding shoes is a constant dilemma. ..

Hi Melissa-

Re: shoes, have you tried Zappos.com. They are wonderful. Great service, very prompt good return policies and you can shop according to size. They have tons and tons. I looked for women's in size 12 (have no idea what you wear), they had 108 pages of shoes available in that size.

Here's a link:

Oh Melissssssssssah...

Oh Melissssssssssah...

You have just toppled Rain off her 'Tall Girl' pedestal. See, she's been giving Gina and I a hard time for about three years now since we're only about 5'10" and she's a full six foot!

Now, relax Rain... You could wear your stiletos..:D

Sorry to butt in on your work thread Kevin. Umm, is there a catagory for volunteer?

Thanks for the resources, Nancy. Zappos.com has helped me in the past - they're great (and sometimes have free shipping! =). Others that carry large sizes: nordstromshoes.com, and eddiebauer.com. Even with these resources, I sometimes envy my girlfriends who can walk by any ol' shoe store and buy off the rack. . .

Sorry to bust yur bubble Rain. . . :D :D and glad to know a fellow 5'12"-er. :D Middle school was tough, huh?

What about us students? We work our butts off both inside the home and outside the home but for no pay!! Perhaps you should also have "none of the above".
