Great to see your wife is doing so well! I agree on the educational standpoint of a prothethic mitral pregnancy. With the Lovenox...CYA since the FDA released the recall for MVR pregnancies. Did hear they lifted the recall. But could never find the release?

There is one doctor in my area that has sucessfully helped patients with such. I am very confident with his credentials. He's an amazing MD in many ways. If I/we could have gotten over the statistical aspect of such. We may have tried a pregnancy with the MVR.

All the best to you and your family. Look forward to seeing your baby pics.:)

Take care.

Hi Anthony, I am currently 11weeks pregnant for the first time and taking Lovenox shots 3xs/daily. I have a st. jude mitral valve, my surgery was in 2003. I wanted to ask about the child being exposed to warfarin/ coumadin during pregnancy and the dose that Willow is/was taking throughout both pregnancies. when did you find out you two were pregnant and when did you switch to lovenox? what week did you switch back to warfarin/ coumadin and what daily dose? I've been taking the lovenox shots diligently every 8hrs/daily and getting my blood checked weekly. I've never been out of range in terms of the lovenox and feel comfortable staying on Lovenox because it doesn't cross the placenta whereas warfarin/ coumadin does.

I've been researching quite a bit and read that a daily dose of warfarin <5mg or below is much safer for the fetus compared to a daily does of >5mg. I'd love to hear back as there's not much research out there and I'm not willing to give up on this pregnancy.
Thanks!
Leah
