I agree with the good advice that's been given in this thread -- the POA, living will, etc. Only prudent to have those done, but you will do fine. Want to send my very best wishes. And it's only normal to be anxious about all this -- we all were.

I guess since she was 83 she figured she might not make it. Even though I am a political conservative I have always thought both of the Bush ladies were better first ladies that their husbands were presidents.
PS the letters were sealed and did not get opened they were just in case.

:) So, I'm curious. If the letters weren't opened, how does Adam know what her message to her brother was? Are they good enough friends Mrs. Bush personally told him? Or should we assume, most likely, it was reported somewhere in the press. :D

Mrs Bush told the story herself and made the joke about the one to her brother. I don't know if Adamgot the info from the AP or from an email. It would not suprise me if she bought his book and sent the email herself but I don't know.

I went back and looked at Adam's blog the story came from a USA Today article April 25, 09

Hang in there! You will be just fine. Great advice in the thread. I'm at day 14 post op and feel better than I have in years. Your in good hands and as a podiatrist friend of mine told me when he saw me terrified, he said "Phil, this is like me removing a bunion, they do it every day." Did'nt really help me at the time, but now it makes sense.
