I decided to post my response to a previous post as a new thread so that it might reach even more of you great folks.....

To my VR family,

As a "people person," I'm overwhelmed by the good folks here at VR and so appreciative of all your good wishes. I'm working hard at facing next Tuesday with a positive attitude, but it isn't always easy. While it's sometimes difficult, I'm trying to not drive everyone around me completely crazy and finding that most of my friends and relatives either assume that it's an easy "fix" or that it's the worst thing that could ever happen! This week a friend was diagnosed with a stage 4 cancer--I'm feeling pretty lucky that I have something that can be fixed. I'm trying to keep that perspective in place and keep as busy as possible.

I am so grateful for having the chance to learn from and vent to everyone here and I want to apoligize now for not always responding to each of you. Please know that I appreciate everything you've shared with me and while I've spent an inordinate amount of time as a helicopter member--reading everything and not writing a lot, I hope to make up for that on the other side of the mountain. Once again, thank you for all your good wishes and please keep me in your thoughts as my day approaches. My son will post with info on my progress after surgery, until I'm able to get back on line.

Jane

Best wishes on your journey. I look forward to the progress reports from your son, and you personal recount from the other side of the mountain.

I'm looking forward to your son's update; I know it will be a good one!:)

Dear Jane,

I haven't read your story but am sending you lots of good wishes for Tuesday and I know you will do well as most of us do. These days AVR has become routine as thousands are performed in this country and around the world and lots of lives are being saved by this surgery. Without it people would die, so think positive and tell your friends and family to do the same.
Put your trust in God and your medical team.

Hugs,

We know you are very anxious about having surgery. The waiting is a horrible part to get through. All the best, will be watching for a good outcome next week. Tc

Jane, You will be in my thoughts and prayers next week. The hardest part is waiting once that's over we pray for smooth sailing from there. Keep in touch with us as often as you can to let us know how your recovery is going.
God Bless.

Hi Jane
Here's wishing GODSPEED for your surgery and trip home from the hospital. Just remember our motto......walk, walk, walk, nap, nap, nap, spirometer, spirometer, spirometer and another spirometer.

I'll be praying for you! I'm also in a holding pattern since my surgery was just scheduled for Mar 5...I'm also trying to be positive, but some days are better than others. I'm thankful that the doctors caught it in time and it is fixable. One verse I've found that has helped me is from Ezekiel 36:26, "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you."

Again, I will be praying for you and for your family. I know everything will be ok...

So glad you have a date, waiting for me was horrible.
and in good hands next week, with us all there with you
in spirit.......prayers ,good thoughts to you and family.
YOU WILL DO GREAT:):)
