At about this time, I was being prepped for my surgery. Wow! it doesn't seem like an entire year has gone by. And it's been one heck of a year!

A real rollercoaster ride for me, some really awful things have happened, like my sister's illness and recent death from breast cancer, my aunt being diagnosed with ovarian cancer, my husband's mother passing away, some not too bad things, like my having to have another surgery in Oct. (hysterectomy), and some good things, like taking the family on a road trip to AZ and meeting some of you people. Some absolutely wonderful things, like becoming a Grandma for the 1st time, and having two sweet little nieces born this year. (One of them, Shelby, you'll hear more about as she goes through her own heart surgery later this year.)

But the best thing about this whole climb up and over the mountain was meeting all of you guys. You've been there for me every moment, through the good and bad, no matter what time of day or night, I've been able to come on here and post about my feelings, my questions, my hopes and fears. Thank you!

Congratulations Jean.

I know as the time approaches for my one year, I look at all the new people here now and think of how I felt in their shoes this time last year. It truly is wonderful to have everyone here as deep friends. :)

Hi Jean,

Congratulations on your 1st Birthday:D . You have endured so much this past year. Your a stronger person for it :).

It was so nice to meet you in Phoenix. Hope you make it to Chicago in the fall. We may make a trip out to the Mall of America this summer. Hopefully we can see you then. I know the girls would love it! They really hit it off.

Take care

Jean - your post is so touching - you have been through more than the average can stand and you passed right on through with a smile and appreciation for life at the end of the year. My sincerest congratulations to you for getting through - shows your love and strong convictions.

Thanks guys

Thanks guys

Ann, I'm so glad to hear you're feeling better, I meant to get a card off to you, but never quite got around to it. You've been through alot yourself lately.

Congrat on your first year ann. from Vr. I. too. had a very hard past 4 years..First, my wonderful mother-in-law, my father-in-law, My best friend, My Mama..all pasted.... then I had open heart surgery.this past year..was ups and downs with my feeling good..But today, I walked 3 miles and worked in yard with trimming trees and dragging them down into woods...It was like I had soooo much energy..Tonight, I am cooking fresh vegetables..no opening cans:p :p :p and a big fresh salmon. Funny, I have felt no aches at all. It's something about that first year..and then it's all up hill.:) :) :) :) Bonnie
