I am a month out of surgery as of 2/22/08. I saw my surgeon on Thursday and he released me to my cardio. My heart sounded good and my lungs sounded clear. I am feeling OK just very tired and some days I feel like that truck backed over me. I walk everyday for 45 minutes and I have started doing a little housework but gosh I sure enjoyed being taken care of. My husband did an excellent job of that and still does. I am still on sotalol for A-Fib and haven't noticed any since I've been home. My pulse tends to be pretty low however he was hesitant to reduce the sotalol but wanted to make sure my cardio was following that which he is.Hopefully I'm on my way up. Thanks for all of the support I've received on this site.

Good for you Earline.
Gald to hear things are going well for you. I remember counting every week after post-op........I think I got to week 18 before I started to count the months LOL.

You'll still have good and bad days, but take your time cleaning. Its amazing how little house work one does can take so much out of you. I went back to work after 4 weeks because I needed some rest :D :D

Take care and take your time when doing things.

Cheers and Congrats on your 1 month anniversary

one month

Hey Earline, I'll be one month on the 24th, just 2 days behind you. I'm feeling pretty good, I think I'm having a normal recovery, whatever normal is?? I'm still having trouble taking good deep breathes. I'm only at 1800 on my spirlmeter and before surgery I did 2800. Don't know what normal is for one month out. I've been driving around close to my house with no problems for a few days, and trying to walk more each day. Walking still gets me tired but I push myself. I'm doing all the normal household chores, but still careful with the lifting. I work at a easy part-time job and I did 4 or 5 small jobs last week. Still sleeping in the recliner, I can't lay flat, too hard to breathe, can't lay on my side, that hurts my chest. My chest is still sore but dose'nt hurt, I'm careful how I turn. Have'nt been on pain meds for aleast 2 or 3 weeks, they were making me too sleepy and I did'nt really need them, I can deal with the soreness without them. Everyday I get stronger and feel better!! Take care Debbie :)
