Isn't some of that flooding near Ross?

Also, I sent a PM to Geebee a couple of days ago or so because I haven't seen any posts from her for awhile, but I haven't heard anything back. She's in Ohio also, isn't she? Anyone know if she's okay?

Flooding, etc.

Flooding, etc.

Thanks for your concerns. We are FINE! The flooding starts about10 mile North of our home and continues for another 25 miles. It is VERY BAD! I would really like to help as a volunteer, but I just had foot surgery to relieve a pinched nerve and artery. It has been 3 weeks since the surgery, but it is still swollen and I need to stay off my foot.

The pictures of the damage are very revealing. Most did NOT HAVE flood insurance. The power was turned off when the substation went under water. They know have temporary power in Ottawa, but most of the homes had to have the power disconnected due to water up to the windows.

This is also an area that has had major economic distress.

We are very thankful that they have had minimal loss of life. (92 year old man that became confused and drove car into the river. He came out of his driveway that lead to a road that was closed)

Thanks for your concerns.

Thanks, John & JoAnn for letting us know about things there. Bonnie and I have been quite concerned about our friend who is a single lady, not young, and recently moved into an older home. You have relieved our worry. Thank you.

Glad you are okay, John and Joann; hope your foot heals well and soon.

The evening news said the flooded areas could take years to recover!

Just an idea about the short distances and the major change in rain-fall.
John & JoAnn live approx 8 miles SW of me and their area had approx 3.5 inches of rain from the main storm ( about 5.5 total for week).
I had 6.5 in the 24 hour stretch of the main storm and a week total of about 11, according to my rain guage. Folk just five miles north of me had upwards of 9 inches in the first wave and totaled about 18- 20.

We stayed dry here in our home, but our road was closed due to a small stream way over its bank and standing water everywhere. Interstate 75 was closed just 8 miles north of us. That has never happened around here for rain.

RCB lives in an area that was pretty wet and hit hard. I haven't heard from him. I'm sure he'll chime in soon.

We really had 11 in. at our home. It all depended if you were downstream on the rivers or how much rain actually fell. The State Hwy. was blocked 2 miles from our home.

Many are REALLY HURTING!

I got my guesstimated measurements from my parents who live slightly west and south of you in the country.

Glad you guys are well; and yes there are still many hurting & in need of help.
