I found it interesting that the groin ones were given sedation, that didn't happen at all in St George's last year when I had mine, we just all had a local.

I had no idea this was unusual... I had it done at the new-ish King George's Hospital, near Romford in Essex, which is a 'feeder' for Barts & The Royal London NHS Trust. I'm due to see the surgeon at Barts, although I'll have the AVR at The London Chest Hospital (which is also within this same NHS Trust group.)
