I am so thrilled for my daughter! She attends one the the top 3 public schools in CA and just got her report card. The little squirt got 5 A's ( including pre-calculus and chemistry) and only 1 B( honors english). It is a tough school, lots of kids who aspire Ivy league schools, and so we are very proud of her!
She just was a stand-in for a movie shoot, also. What a long day, but well worth it, as the director called her by name!
Hey, I think my anniversary date is today, 3 years for my carbomedics valve.
It's 104 today, so hot and we don't have air!
TTFN,
Gail

Well now, please accept my congratulations to the both of you!

When I think of what kids are put through in school today, I shudder. I truly think they are being forced to grow up way too fast. They seem to do well under all the pressures they have, but it worries me. :)

Congratulations Gail! Great news on the report card.

Ross...... we felt it this year. Moving our daughter from the south to the north. When she enters 2nd grade this fall she will be expected to be reading at a third grade mid year level! Were making alot of trips to the library. They have a neat little summer incentive program for the kids. Thankfully she's not pitching a fit! Were also in SCORE. Which is a computer based program of sorts to keep the kids on their toes.

Yep, it's major work for everyone. Parents included.

Gail, Congratulations to you and your daughter. Like the others have said, it is so nice to hear the good things our kids are doing for a change instead of all the native things that are going on. This also shows how well you are doing rising your daughter. Again Congratulations!!!!

Dave

Congrats!!

Congrats!!

Just wants to add my praise to your daughter. You and your daughter should both be commended on this. That is quite a feat!!!

WOW! How old is your daughter, Gail? That is quite an acheivement by both of you! Congratulations! It shows that you are an excellent mother. It has been proven to me that the more we work with our children , the better they will do in school, and in life. Congratulations again!

Congratulations to your daughter as well as to you too, Gail. Maybe there's a special academic link between us parents with bad valves and our kids. lol. Tim

Echo boomers

Echo boomers

Thanks to you all for your positive support! My daughter, like her close friends, has been multi tasking for years by her choice!
She just turned 17, and has lots of outside activities along with a tough school load. She studies piano, acting, dance, plays soccer, and is volunteering with a wild animal rescue.
She was helping teachers at age 8 with computer related stuff at school that they couldn't do. However, she is not alone. Her friends are the same way. I read an article when she was 12, and it said that kids born in '85 and '86 showed alot of the same personality traits as us boomers. Very much go getters. Hence the echo boomer!
She does homework, gets good grades and is always IMing tons of friends at the same time.
We are amazed at these kids!
