I was just looking at the November calendar and it appears that Jill's surgery is the only one in November, and it's just barely in November. :) Are there others that haven't been put on the calendar?? October sure has been a busy surgery month.

I haven't scheduled my surgery yet, but I'm pretty sure its going to be the last week of november.

Now to pick a heart center...Duke or Hopkins.

Patrick,
I just noticed you were from St. Louis. You are the fifth member from the area to have valve replacement since June; even though your surgery will take place in Chicago. All the VR testimonials I've read state you will be in great hands with Dr. McCarthy. Good luck in the days ahead.

I went to visit with Dr Duke Cameron at Hopkins on Tuesday the 18th.What a good guy and very down to earth. He's a tremendous surgeon from my understanding.Hopkins has been a leader in surgery for Marfan's Syndrome. This has led them to do many, many surgeries involving the heart.Dr.Cameron has done more surgeries than anyone else on the east coast. In his 21 years there,he has never lost a patient.Just wanted to let you know!!!

Mary thanks for the helpful words, as you probably know Barnes/Jewish hospital, and Washington U. Medical in St Louis are a great hospital and medical school. I asked my local cardilologist if he were in my shoes where would he have these three procedures done. He said "if it was strictly AVR/MVR he would stay in St Louis, but add in the maze he would go to either Dr McCarthy in Chicago or Dr Cosegrove in Cleveland".

Keep me in your prayers on the 8th.
