That would be a first............now I remember when I said that one time...........

*raises eyebrow cautiously*

Do I even want to know?

gijanet said:
Oh, yes, yes, I will. I will have to check the train schedule for the guesstimated time of arrival - add five hours or so and then figure out when we will be leaving Bloomington. That would be great if it is not wee hours of the morning. We would love to see you again.

Same here! We'll see what we can work out ... depending on the time of day and day of week....

Oh, Cort, I am so sorry. You know you hold a really special place in my heart as you were one of my first heart buddies, and this pains me to hear that you are having such a hard time right now. You will be in our prayers that you find peace and happiness with whatever decision you make. Sending our love and prayers and I will get back to you on the rest. Many hugs. Janet

Awwweee....thanks, Janet. I appreciate your words, again, more than you probably know ... but, gosh darn it ... my issues right now are nothing compared to what ya'll are experiencing right now :(.

Wellllllllllllll.............

Wellllllllllllll.............

You're both tough, fiesty little cookies and I'm sure you'll both come through this next challenge fiestier than ever.
Hugs to you both
Anna : )

As for Katie, yeah, I agree............as for me??? I think I am just going to be about ten years older, a hell of a lot grayer, and a lot more haggard..........sigh! :D

And, no, you are wrong. Your words do help. I feel your compassion and support, and they are so greatly appreciated. Many hugs. J.

Yeah, you and me both............the Katiemeister will be stirring here in about three hours.............sigh!

Okay, so we will tackle these things one at a time.............first, Katie's surgery, then we will tackle your karma or tai chi or whatever that Chinese word is for the ambience or mood  and we will find you a great job in a great location...........

I will definitely get back to you with those times. In the meantime, I am sending loads of hugs to you and wishing truly that you find peace and happiness. P.s. That speechless comment - you made some similar smarta*s comment to me in response to my very first post on here. :D

Love ya. J.

Janet - does Don's Mom live in Bloomington-Normal? That's my hometown and my sister still lives there. Wish I was going to be down there so I could stop by to wish you all well in person.

Janet:
I take it that you're going July 9? Or is it Aug. 9?
Good luck with EVERYTHING! I'll pray for a valve repair. Can't imagine taming a child like Katie into taking Coumadin. If that comes to pass, I have a lion tamer's whip, pistol & chair. ;)

Ayep!

She sure does........one and the same! We were just there June fourth for my step-daughter's wedding. Wish you could do that, too. We could have our own Katie parade with you and Cort. :D Hugs. J.

Oh, how I wish it were August 9th.............of about 2020, say...........sigh! But I'm afraid we do leave THIS Saturday. It just dawned on me that we will be in the PICU recovering this time next week!

Thank you so much, Marsha, for the prayers and good wishes. They are definitely appreciated. Many hugs. Janet

Ironically enough, I just saw a news story about how much sleep we need ... the consensus seems to be that we need 7 hours of sleep.

*sighs*

The last few years, during the weeknights I get about 4-5 hours. Weekends (depending on what I'm doing) is more to the 7-10 hour range. Vacations are somewhat better/more consistant.

*shakes head*

As if I needed something else to be concerned/frustrated about...lol.

It's more my mood. But, yes, definitely tackle Katie's surgery ... that is, of course, the #1 priority right now. I feel guilty for even mentioning my issues :(.

Good ... we'll see what we can "cook up" ;).

Not sure I can find the correct words to type here in response ... except, well, thank you.

Yes, a parade sounds good to me ;). Course, there are plenty of us in Chicagoland.....

As for June 4th ... wish I had remembered you were here then ... ah, well.

Hey, I get that - it's just spread out over two day intervals...... :D

No, don't even go there, Cort. I can feel your pain in your posts, and I know that things are not right in your world. This DOES pain me, but only because I care so much about you. If I had that damn magic wand of Mary's, I would make this all go away for both of us. You are a gem - a true gem. I'm just waiting for the right girl to come along and realize that! You have a heart - regardless of any superfluous physical flaws it might have - that is pure gold and is full of more compassion and caring than the vast majority of those out there that are supposedly perfect.

We are scheduled to get into Bloomington around 11:30 Sunday, but knowing Amtrak like we do, it will be closer to three or four, and will be heading out a couple of hours later. Got to do "lunch" at the MIL's and since she is loaning us her car to take to Ann Arbor, it's the least we can do. Have no clue from that point, but can try and get a more specific itinerary for a rally point. How far are you from Bloomington? I'm trying to judge time here..........heehee! :D And I ain't too good at it. Listen, if you are still around and not off on a road trip somewhere, maybe on the way back might be better as we won't be so rushed...............course Katie won't be feeling too chipper.............so dunno. Would love to see you again, though, and I KNOW you would love to see us..........heehee! :D .

You have our love and prayers. Many hugs. J.

Our Lady of Aparecida

Our Lady of Aparecida

Hello Janet,

You are in all our prayers. I am a devotee of Our Lady of Aparecida, the patron saint of Brazil. I am praying for her intervention in your case. There is a special church in the state of São Paulo in a small town called Aparecida do Norte dedicated to Our Lady, and this week my cleaning lady is going there. I've asked her to light a candle for Katie and to pray for you and your daughter. We all really hope that everything will work out fine for you.

Bruna will be making a card for her and we'll send it to you immediately.

I'm putting an icon of Our Lady of Aparecida below. My husband is a devotee of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, and he's praying for you too.

Débora

You are in my prayers.

You are in my prayers.

I am hoping and praying for all the best for your daughter (and you, too!).

Godspeed,

Kristi

Ayyyeewwweee.... So very kind of you to say, Janet...thank you.

*sits stunned for a moment*

Ya know, I like the idea of using that magic wand to make the pain for both of us to go away...heh.

*sighs*

But, that, sadly, is not possible.

Yeah, I know. Umm...from Bloomington, I'm about 2.5 hours. Not sure how long I'd be able to stay on a Sunday, tho. Hmm....I'm guessing your route to MI will take you to Indy and up through Fort Wayne, so you bypass Chicago entirely.....so, I'm not sure how this'll work. If you have your cell phone with you, you could always call me when you are about 3 hours from Bloomington....

Ya know, I thought about an after visit, too. But, if Katie isn't feeling too chipper, that might not be so great. But, do you even know for sure when you'll be heading back to TX?

Yep, but if we don't meet up ... it won't be the first time friends are "so close yet so far away" ... and it won't be the last...lol.
