they sprayed the WD-40 down my throat "7" times and it never did numb. the dr came in asked if we were ready to go, the nurse told him that I was not numb yet and replied it will be OK, let's go. that is the last thing I remember

Without question, the TEE is about the worst procedure I have experienced. I too thought my throat was being sprayed with WD-40. To make things worse, I was not given enough medication. I remember everything .
The doctor eventually had to stop the procedure long before he could take any measurements.

The cardiologist who sent me to him wanted me to have it done again. My wife said "no way", and we bolted to another cardiologist at a different hospital. This cardiologist is not a big fan of TEEs. I would rather have 10 more heart caths than 1 more TEE.
