Hi!

Many of you have nicks whose meanings are pretty obvious. In those cases where it is not so clear, can you tell us its meaning?

In my case, i am also a member of the site Cardiacathletes, where i registered as Midpack. I enjoy running and like to participate in road races. My favourite distances are between 5k and 10k. Anyway, i am, and have allways been, a recreational runner. In races, many many runners finish ahead of me, and many others behind. So i am what is called, in running terminology, a "midpack runner"!

pellicle

A thin skin or film, such as an organic membrane or liquid film.
My first degree was Biochem / Microbiology [sub](under duress I may confess to more)[/sub]

However it is also something I liked because (after my biology lessons) I found that it also formed a part of a few unique cameras
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canon_EOS_RT was the first one I knew about. I used one and was stunned by its operation.

It didn't take me long to learn of the earlier model http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canon_Pellix

so now you know ... I'm a biology / camera geek

Mine is just an abbreviation of my name, left over from the earliest days on the internet in usenet newsgroups. No really deep meaning behind it, just moved it from an earlier forum.

Mine's a high school nickname. I certainly hope that it didn't stand for Big L(oser) at the time :p, but given my state of nerd-ness and lack of social skills at that age, I'm afraid it may have stood for exactly that!
