Hi, my name is Tony. The reason for the title is that I am new to this website, but old to valve replacement. I was diagnosed with a bicuspid aortic valve, with stenosis and regurgitation in December of 1995. In january of 1996, Dr. Daniel Calhoun (a genius0 replaced my aortic valve with a St. Jude model 27A-101 at Riverside Hospital in Newport News, VA. Due to heart block, in 2001 I recieved a Guidant dual chamber pacemaker. I am currently on my third pacemaker, Boston Scientific model S603. I am currently suffering from Superior Vena Cava Occlution, due to my pacemaker lead, which my doctor tells me I have to live with. This long winded message in the anniversary thread is to tell yoy that it will be 17 years since my valve replacement, with no end in sight. Maybe some one can give me a clue about what I can do about SVC. Also, I have been self testing and self dosing my coumadin since November of 2003 with a protime-3, lookin to upgrade to a inratio2 due to erratic readings from the protime. Thanks for listening.
