You guys are all so nice! I can' t thank you enough for telling me your stories. You have all made me feel a little better about this whole thing. I just wish it were already over! LOL I know from experience that time will fly once I get going. When I think about it I can't believe I'm 15 years away from my breast cancer.
I way able to get my 2nd opinion appt moved up to next Friday, 8/31. That is a relief! I really would've been a mess waiting till 9/10.
Thanks Again
~Donna

I'm glad you were able to move the 2nd opinion up, where/who is that with? Luckly Philly is a great area if you happen to have heart problems. I was so grateful when Justin was born to live so close to some of the worlds best heart centers.Lyn

Lyn - I'll be seeing a Dr. Joe Lewis at Chester County Hospital in West Chester. He's a cardio too - He came recommended by my primary care and this nurse I know from Lankenau knows him too and says he's from Lankenau also.
Did your son have his surgery at Lankenau? I can't imagine worrying about a child with heart issues!

Justin had his first 2 OHS at CHOP, then 1 OHS/and pacer implant and a pacemaker removal at DuPont THEN his last 2 surgeries (and the infection surgery) were back at CHOP. His cardiologists are at St.Chis and one at U of P, we like to spread the wealth thru the del val lol.
I used to work in Blood Bank at Hahnemann which is how I know Lou, I knew of Carolyn's surgeon's Dr Grunwald from HAH but not that well, just knew he was good.

Those hospitals all have great reputations! Didn't I just read that CHOP is the #1 children's hospital in the country? I only live about 15 min from AI DuPont - I know alot of nurses there. My kids, with the youth group at our church, used to go there and visit the sick kids and do activities with them. It was awesome. I think they have stopped that program.
