I THINK COSGROVE DOES A MINI STR. WHICH MEANS HE STILL OPENS UP THE CHEST IN THE MIDDLE . LOOK INTO THAT. I HAD MY MINIMAL AT nyu. THEY ACTUAL OPEN YOU UP ON THE UPPER RIGHT BREAST ABOVE THE NIPPLE SO THEY DON'T HAVE TO BREAK THE BREASTBONE. ASK HIM ANOUT IT AND MORE IMPORTANTLY GOOD LUCK.

I have alot to learn. I actually fly in on the 14th and my surgery is on the 20th. I'm sure will have everything worked out by then. Thanks again for the input.

Hi Bob! Welcome to the group.

As you see, individual recoveries vary. I had a mitral valve repair and a double bypass almost 6 months ago. I was able to drive at 4 weeks and back to work at 6. I was definitely more easily fatigued, which limited my activities at first.
