Excellent work. But if your feeling reasonable now just wait for about 6 or 8 months when your playing basketball and going full out with no issues. Thats what really blew me away, being able to do things that before were such a struggle.

Congrats...

Alex, Glad to hear you are home and doing well.

At 8 years old, something about turning blue from time to time freaked my parents and doctors out.

My (this time around) surgeon told me post surgery that I had been born with a uni-cuspid valve, the reason for my first ride in 1968. At that time they had few fixes for children so near as he could tell they must have pushed a pinky finger through my AV to open it somewhat. At that same time they repaired 2 coarctations in my ascending aorta, a surprise found during my second surgery. I always knew I would have a second surgery at some point as an adult. I got by for 40 years on the pinky finger fix.

You'll get use to the clicking. Early on it kept me awake on occasion but it doesn't anymore. It's when you stop hearing it that you worry!

Mine is like 6mg per day plus a baby aspirin, does that seem high?

Alex when it comes to Coumadin, there is no such thing as too high. The correct dose is that which keeps you in range. For some people, it's as little as 2mg and for others, as much as 25mg per day. Your about average. Expect to be taking a little bit more as your activity increases. Everything is made by small 5 to 10% adjustments in the weekly dose.

Just don't let them tell you that you cannot eat what you want too!!!!!

Dose the diet you eat, don't diet the dose of the drug.

Glad to hear you are doing so well. I hope you continue at this pace, and get back to doing the things you like before the end of summer. Just remember not to overdo it at this time.

congrats on being over! im 3 months post op and have the loud clicking too-praying it goes away because its kind of annoying. and can be esp distracting "in the moment" if you get my drift!
