Funny BackDoc, the second (or third?) time I checked into the hospital via the emergency room for symptoms of heart failure, the internist on duty told me that he didn't think there was anything wrong with my heart and it was probably just brought on by stress and indigestion.

(They kept me overnight that time so they could do an echo the next day. It confirmed the BAV and I was told to be ready for surgery very soon.)

BackDoc and Clay, thanks for the kick in the backside :biggrin2:, I probably needed that. Things ARE moving a bit slower than I would like - more than 2 weeks now without talking to any professional. I'll play along for a while longer but let's just say that my index of suspicion has been raised. For now, things are still moving along - stress test next Thursday.

Oh well, I've never been the shy and retiring type. I've just got to learn enough about how the system works from the patient's side so that I can start subverting it for my own purposes . I do have a few connections...

Thanks for the advice and sharing your stories,

Halya
