Hi Viv....Welcome to a REAL support group. You might want to move this post or start a new thread announcing you as a new member so that others will welcome you. I have no idea how to move this post to a new thread. Maybe Ross can do it.

Welcome Viv. I put you on the calendar. I agree, you should start your own thread under pre-surgery and then everyone will catch it and welcome you and support you!

Viv ... Welcome to the zoo ... A great place for information, support and to express your fears ... we all had them ... If you are relatively healthy you should do just fine!!

Welcome, Viv -- fears are normal, we all had them. But this type of surgery has a very high rate of success. If you have any questions or concerns, ask away and there will be people here who can address them.

Hi Viv and welcome to the VR community. It's nice to have you here. Best wishes on your upcoming surgery.

My prayers will be with you for a successful surgery on the 24th!

We all were scared while the waiting game was on. Some more than others. Some dealt with it in very different ways, I'm sure. I will say that the actual surgery and recovery, while NOT FUN was NOT as bad as I had convinced myself. It's easy for me to say this because I am past it. I chose an artificial valve so this WILL NEVER be repeated. Once is enough. But, if something else cane up, I may not like it but I would know, I will survive and be better for it. Ask LOTS of questions and you will get SOOO many answers and opinions and be SOOO busy reading them that you won't have time to worry.
All my best:)
