OK, Betty, we'll put 'em all on the list. We already had Readers' Digest, but I forgot to note it (senior moment?). We also have a growing collection of paperbacks (lots of cops, spies and horror stuff) for those of us with a lot of time ahead of us in The Waiting Room.

Now if only we could get this wet bar finished. . .

Excellent!

Excellent!

Wow, Steve, what a difference and change in docs can make! Guess you'll just be 'waiting around' a little longer :D

Hi Steve,
I agree with Al. I'd ask your new cardio about ordering a TEE. I had two echo's and they were more or less inconclusive, putting my valve at 1.9cm, possible bi-cuspid valve. Then the TEE put me at 0.8cm, with a definite bi-cuspid valve, which was more in the range of my symptoms.
I also found the TEE to be no big deal. In fact, I think I preferred it over an echo. My thigh hurt and bruised badly afterwards and with the TEE I had no discomfort at all. Just my 2 cents worth.
Glad you found a more appropriate doc, though! Tim

Steve,

Do I have to return the Playboys I "borrowed" while in the Waiting Room?

Tim and Al, thanks for the advice. I have an appointment for a "regular" echo in 6 weeks, with a follow-up consult after that. If the report is consistent with past tests and the doc's expectation, I'll mention TEE for the next one. If it is at all inconsistent, then maybe I'll bring it up to do immediately just for peace of mind. It (TEE) sounds more of an "Ugh" than a show-stopper.

Paul, no, don't bother returning the magazines. They disappear all the time, and sometimes by the time we get them back. . .

I also think we need a high speed web connection in this waiting room, since so much of the best stuff is there rather than in print (and I'll leave the definition of "best stuff" up to each of you).

Hey Tim-

Just wondering about the problems you had with your echo. Joe's had lots of them, and they never came near his thighs, nor did he have bruising. Who did yours, Brunhilde? H-m-m-m

Poor Ross. Between you and I, Steve, he just can't win, although that last symbol also looks like me on Mondays at work.

I second Nancy's comment. I sounds more like a possible reaction to *Cardiac Catheterization* where the catheter is inserted into one's groin. SOME bruising and local discomfort are not uncommon for this procedure.

Nancy and Al,

I must humble myself and admit I screwed up a bit! You are right, Al, it was the cath that caused the bruising and discomfort.

Does this finally qualify me for "pumpheadedness"?

Steve, sorry for the misguided comments. However, the TEE was much more conclusive than the echo. Tim

Hi Tim-

You don't have to humble yourself. Just giving you a little heart patient humor.:)

I knew you would be telling us it was the cath, but I couldn't resist.:p
