Hi Everyone!
I just got off the phone with my mother-in-law, her sister, Aunt Betty, was just diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic bone cancer. The primary site is the breast. She was treated for the breast cancer years ago and seemed to be doing quite well. She has been having bone scans done every 6 months since the breast cancer and just during this last scan they noticed something didn't look right. Stage 4 metastatic bone cancer. It just seemed to progress so fast and come out of nowhere. She is not in any pain but she says that she is very tired and has no energy. I believe she has had to have 2 transfusions because of very low blood counts. I have been trying to do a lot of research regarding metastatic bone cancer and see what Aunt Betty's options and prognosis may be. She is in her 70's right now and has been through an awful lot these past few years. She was diagnosed with breast cancer, a couple years ago her son died, her father just died this past January and her 12 year old granddaughter has an extremely bad case of Crohn's disease and just had to have 2 surgeries a few months ago. Sometimes it just never seems to stop for her. I wish we were a little closer to her, she lives in CA and most of the family, besides her children, live on the East Coast. Please send some prayers her way. She really needs some extra strength right now. Thanks for listening. Sometimes if just feels better to get this stuff out.

Take Care!
Gail

Of course

Of course

I will keep her and you in my thoughts and prayers as long as needed.

Hi Gail,
I most certainly will say prayers for your Aunt Betty. I am sure that prayers do help.
I am so sorry for the family and all the problems they have had.
I know the feeling. My daughter in law was diagnosed with cancer about 1 1/2 years ago. Chemo has not helped as it is metastatic. She had a kidney removed, bleeding lungs and pneumonia several times. She is epileptic on top of it all. She has had a really rough year. She is a patient at M.D. Anderson at Houston. I think they have done just about everything they can unless they have come up with something new in the last few days.
My daughter in law has had many people praying for her and I think it has helped to keep her going and her faith is still strong. We know of one time the cancer shrunk and she hadn't received chemo in a while. Sure hope that happens again. That kept her going for awhile. We still need more prayers though.
My best to you and your family and surely wish a miracle for your aunt Betty. God can do that!
Missy

Hi Gail and Missy,

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.

As a spouce of a cancer patient I fully understand as we are living with the thought of it returning. To top it off my heart disorder. It never stops. I am scared for our child. She could very well be without both of her parents. It's not easy.

God Bless.

Missy,
I will most definately keep your daughter-in-law as well as your entire family in my prayers.

I also want to thank everyone here for all the prayers for Aunt Betty. I sent a few web sites for my mother-in-law to check out. They may be of some help to find the best facility for treatment.

Thanks Again & God Bless You All!
Gail

Thanks Gail and everyone for the best wishes and warm thoughts for my daughter in law. She has told me to please thank everyone that prays for her and thinks about her. She appreciates it. She is going on faith alone now. No treatment anymore. For now anyway. She says God will heal her. She really is strong in her faith.
Gail. let me know which hospital or cancer center she chooses. I am interested.
Missy

All my prayers are with your aunt

All my prayers are with your aunt

I had breast cancer 13 years ago; anytime I hear such a story as your aunt's I truly feel that "there but for the grace . . ." I didn't have a particularly good prognosis, but beat the odds and was very fortunate. Several women - wonderful, fun, optimistic, young and old women - who had prognoses similar to mine didn't make it.

I'm sorry for you and your family; and of course you're all in my prayers. Believe me, I understand.
