Do-Not Call Registry
Here is the National Do-Not Call Regitry- To stop the Telemarketers

http://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx

If you register-------------------Most telemarketers must stop calling
June 27 ? August 31, 2003-------After October 1, 2003
September 1, 2003 or after------Three months after you register
and you may file a complaint

Oklahoma passed a bill that will automatically submit everyone listed at the state level to the national list. Since signing up in January, I have noticed a marked decrease in annoyance calls. Now if they would just pass a SPAM, Do Not Email law...

Tell me about it. That's one thing that I don't think will ever be changed and it's getting worse everyday. I didn't use to get the garbage in my Road Runner acct and now I'm getting something or more, everyday.

The site must be down temporarily. I registered early this morning with no trouble at all. Can't get a ping out of it now, so it's down.

I know answering machine is full of them..   I don't feel sorry for their jobs..let them go somewhere else. My age 88 year old Dad..likes to take a mid morning long nap. When I was there last week..had several everyday..I told them..Take his number off your list.   Makes me so mad.Elderlypeople are confused..and do not know to tell people who are selling siding..that they live in a brick house, ect. Consumers Rush to Join Telemarketing Do-Not-Call List

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WASHINGTON--Fed-up consumers found a new outlet for expressing their disgust with telemarketers Friday by signing up in droves to put more than 735,000 home, fax and cell phone numbers on a new national do-not-call list.

At one point, 108 people per second were registering their numbers either by phone or by going online. The sudden rush caught staffers off-guard at the Federal Trade Commission, which maintains the list. By midmorning, many people could not connect to the www.donotcall.gov Web site, forcing workers to add more computer equipment to handle the crush.

``We all believed that we were totally on top of things and volume couldn't possibly exceed what we were planning for,'' said FTC spokeswoman Cathy MacFarlane.

But even the FTC, which had pored over 64,000 public comments that mostly supported the creation of a do-not-call list, underestimated the feelings of rancor and powerlessness that telemarketers provoke in the public.

Telemarketers take note, you are unwanted.

3 numbers

3 numbers

I got in around 8 P.M. last night. Put my number in and 2 others for kids. You can do 3 numbers if you want to help someone else. Now, need to get Daddy in Alabama in. Bonnie

No Call List,
I just got in and put in 3 phone numbers. Colorado also has a no call list. I am with Ross, where is the email no spam list?

MA started list on Jan 1st

MA started list on Jan 1st

But the problem I am now getting is junk faxes! I have a fax here at home on a dedicated line for my work. My fax number seems to be on a list as I am getting junk faxes. This is illegal in MA, but that doesn't seem to stop them! Their advertisements costs ME, not them. It uses my paper, and my ink and we all know how expensive the ink cartridges cost. There is a toll free number at the bottom of each ad to call to remove name from database, but that probably only removes it from one list that was sold, and not all the lists that are out there.

Oh, and I still get some phone calls from telemarketers who are unaware of the Massachusetts law although the calls are getting less and less frequent. Thank goodness!
