I think my aim is to be able to walk away with the hope that I may not need to come back for re-op for a long long time. My surgeon talked about the Ross and the St Jude primarily so I think he agreed. I kinda prefer the Ross and the ON-X as my choices - in that order.
Info from this thread has reinforced the value of both. But, for me, the gap between those two and a tissue valve ain't all that big. I think it's a matter of looking at the positive in all the choices because there is little use in waking up and saying, "oh crap" when they tell you what was done. If this all results in my receiving the Ross, tissue or ON-X, I will be thankful these options exist.
