Aaahh, Ross I picture the two of us propped up in front of our computers all day long..................lol

I am lucky I got some work to do today for one of my small accounts. Have to keep the brain busy to make sure they didn't take out anything important while they were cleaning in there. You can call me anytime though........................lol:D

Thanks Janie

Thanks Janie

Let me tell you about Monday...........that was the slowest day I ever experienced.........seemed slower than your worse work day. I am not one to watch daytime soaps, so without any work to do I am going crazy. I am lucky to have something productive to do today, and then there is my physical therapy homework. Pete is always finding ways to throw me off balance. I am determined to regain my balance. Actually I am walking quite well these days (just not with my eyes closed)-that is one of the difficult things I need to accomplish. Practice, practice, practice..........:D :D

Hi Gisele-

There's only today to get through and tomorrow, hopefully, you'll have the answers about your surgery.

My prayers are with you.

Hi Gisele,
Wishing you the absolute best! All thoughts are with you.

Thanks Nancy, Joe & Les...........

Thanks Nancy, Joe & Les...........

Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

I saw my cardiologist today. Unfortunately I don't know much more now than I did yesterday. It seems that althought the cardio docs in Boston seem to have fallen off the face of the world, they still have not contacted my local doc. He will attempt to contact someone now at New England Medical Center (where I had my surgery 20 years ago). He does know one fact for sure, no cardio doc will do any surgery before 4 to 6 weeks after my subdural due to the amounts of anticoagulants that are administered while on the pump. So, for now I sit here and wait. I have to go back next Friday for another recheck.

I think the hardest thing is to sit and wait for some type of word as to how they all want to handle me. Meanwhile I am trying to keep busy. The hardest part is not driving. My physical therapy is going pretty well while I regain my balance. There are times I forget and turn quickly and nearly lose my balance and appear intoxicated. Fortunately I haven't fallen--thank goodness--I wouldn't want to hit my head!

Thank you so much for all your support.

Gisele

Oh gee, Gisele-

I was sure you would have an answer today. How terrible. I bet they are having many discussions about how to handle your case. And I also bet that when things are worked out, you'll be whisked into surgery asap. So better wash your nighties and pack your makeup.

Still in my thoughts and prayers. You've got a lot of strength.

Gee Gisele

Gee Gisele

I whine and whimper about my coumadin, and here you are in such a pickle. You're in my prayers, too, and I MUST remember to be thankful for all the good stuff.

Bless you; I hope you get good news soon.

Gisele,

I know that I have written something like this many times before, but I want to say it again. Everyone in health-care must constantly remember that everything we know, we learned from our patients. What you are going through is going to teach these doctors and the generation coming up what to do about someone in your situation. In that regard, you, too, are a pioneer. Your courage is no less than that of any other pioneer.

At least you learned today that it is unlikely that they are going to do anything for a while. That probably partly explains the doctors not getting in contact. Your chart hasn't floated to the top of the heap yet. While you undoubtedly would like to get it over with, the longer you stay off the top of the heap the more strength you are likely to build and the better the chance at a good outcome.

Mornin, Gisele - a new day - a new set of exercises, but you just gotta do ' em. Not always fun, but it's going to help get you back. Hope today is better than yesterday, not as good as tomorrow is going to be. Love Ann

Allodwick,

Allodwick,

I was wondering how many other mechanical heart valve patients have run into my problem. Have you heard of any and do you know how they were treated? I have been trying to search the internet but let's face it, that could take me years there is just so much out there to go through.

Anyone on this board have a problem with subdurals? From what I understand is I have one thing going for me and that is that I do not suffer from A-Fib. That would require anticoagulants after the tissue valve is implanted and that would defeat the purpose. I figure if I ever develop it, a new anticoagulant drug will be out on the market by then and hopefully I would be a good candidate for this med....but one day at a time. My short term goal is to get rid of this %*&# headache! Oh, and to regain my balance so I don't appear like I have been drinking.

Bonnie, don't forget to send me those pants. I think they might detract from my bald spot........... What size are they? :)

Ann, thanks for reminding me to do my PT exercises (dread...sigh)

Everyone, thanks again for all of your support. You are like part of my family.......... except for the fact that I have never met you. I think that Chicago is out this year for me, but maybe one of these times there will be something on the east coast.;)

You've met me, you just haven't seen me in person. I'm pretty much "what you see is what you get", nothing different in person then I am on the board. Well maybe I'm a bit more quiet then I am on here. ;)

Ohhh, Ross.........

Ohhh, Ross.........

I can't believe that you would be the quiet type.....although you do have a soft gentle voice on the phone. Maybe we should add audio messages to our avatars! Of course I wouldn't have the slightest idea how to do that...............lol

That was great!!!

That was great!!!

I loved it Ross..............thank you:D :D :D

Hi Giselle,
I'm just trying to start catching up and am anxious to read all your most recent news. I'm still pretty foggy but it seems like you are pretty much waiting...is that the story? I prayed for you and several others here as I went into surgery. I'll talk to you more later.
