I don?t understand all those acronyms...

I don?t understand all those acronyms...

Hey Ross,

Are you saying that is what they listed as the ?normal? on your report?

This is the info off Ryan?s last echo.... You think I got the acronyms listed correctly?

Left Ventricular Diastolic Dimension 5.9 ? LVIDd? 3.7-5.6
Left Ventricular Systolic Dimension 3.9 ? LVIDs? 2.4-3.4
Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction 55
Right Ventricular Dimension 4.1 Right Ventricle Normal Value .7-2.3
Right Ventricular Septal Thickness 1.1 IVSd? 0.6-1.1
Posterior Wall Thickness .8 ? LVPWd? 0.6-1.1
Left Atrial Dimension 3.09 - LA dimension 1.9-4.0
Aortic Root Dimension 4.6 -- AO Root Dimension. 2.0-3.7
Aortic Valve 5.6
Mitral Valve 4.4

I took the aortic valve dimensions and Left atrial Dimension from his report before last because they weren't listed on his last report. But all the numbers on that report were higher than the ones on the most recent report. .... and my cardio tells me the numbers don't go down... it's the way the tech takes the measurment. So I'm making sure he sees the same tech every time we do an echo now. That's one reason we did the test where they load you up with the coloring and the machine takes about a zillion pictures.... can't think of what that test was called right now. He's scheduled for another echo the week of his Thanksgiving break from college. My cardio says he'll need surgery before he graduates....... so I'm trying to talk him into double majoring or becoming a doctor, :D so he'll be in college longer. lol :D Ry says he'd rather have open heart surgery than spend another two years in college. lol

He's under our insurance as long as he's in college and under ...I think it's 23 years of age. So you think that means if he has the surgery the day before classes end his senior year he's covered?

When I go for f/u on the 30th of Sept.....and he comes in and listens to my heart ..I will block the door. and ask him:D He comes in..listens and says ..Everything is great and out the door he goes.:D Will be fun to see if I am put on a yearly visit now. I still have $900,000.00 left of my million dollar insurance.. Don't expect any more open-heart surgeries and no having a baby:D :D My deductable is paid this year..PCP checkup's..so will wait and hear what he says about echo.... I went 35 years without wasting money with Delta Airline. only 2 babies.. so do not feel guilty using their insurance. bonnie

Rain I think what they show for normal on mine is "at my height and weight" because they checked both before the echo. I'm sure Ryan's would be different if I'm thinking right on this subject. I know he is considerably taller then I, but I bet our weight is about the same.

So pleased at your news

So pleased at your news

Ross, I do not have to imagine very hard how relieved and happy you must feel at this news. If you remember, I had a fright about my tricuspid valve 3 months after my avr, which you all helped me through. I well recall the sense of reprieve and happiness I had when the consultant said the leak was moderate rather than severe.

Enjoy your life! (Although you sound as though you do already!) It's great news and well deserved as you are an inspiration to us all.

Thank You everyone. In a very short summary it says that I'm a fat little man with a BIG heart! :D

Yeah, and. . .

Yeah, and. . .

And I'm a skinny little guy with a GREAT BIG GRIN for you on such a great report!

Glad you finally got a good one for a change, Ross. Now we can get down to business of making everyone really crazy!
