That's so great! Thanks for letting us know...best wishes for a speedy and uneventful recovery.
(one thing I remember from surgery when I was 5 is those ice chips...and being cranky that they wouldn't give me any FOOD ;)

We're all thinking of you!
Melissa

Truly great news Daniel. I will continue to pray that Abigail recovers quickly. Now don't forget to take some time to breathe. I know your road has not been and easy road to travel. God's Blessings to you all.

Daniel, so glad to hear the good news. Abigail will continue to recover rapidly, she is
young and that is a big bonus. Make sure you get the rest you need. Laura

The nurses and docs continue to be so thrilled with Abigail's recovery, they discharged us on Saturday evening!
We were told that during Abi's first day of recovery, she accomplished more milestones (getting out of bed, walking to the bathroom, walking down the hall to the playroom) than most kids do 3 days after surgery. She continues to have a minimal amount of pain and is moving around a lot. If all goes to plan, we'll have a follow-up appt on Tuesday and should be heading home to Virginia!!
For those who are interested (and I'm sure some are) she received a:
Carpentier-Edwards PERIMOUNT RSR pericardial aortic bioprosthesis
Model Number: 2800

Great news!! I'm glad things are going so well and you can go home soon. Once at home it seems recovery goes even faster for the kids.

SUPER !!!

Love to read these Upbeat Posts about how kids bounce back from OHS. :)

Another shining example that OHS is a Highly Refined Art in the hands of skilled surgeons.

Are you planning on showing us pictures of your smiling and active OHS superstar?

Whoa....out already? That's terrific!! She must be a strong little girl. Great news Daniel! Thanks for sharing the valve info.....I will be checking it out!!
