Well I spoke to my Aunt Nanny (Ann) today.
She will be having surgery on Wednesday 3/26/2008.
They wanted to give her a few more days to continue to lose some edema. And build herself up.
They think its only going to be the tricupid valve that will be replaced.
I hope it all goes well.

Nancy, I will put her on our calendar and our prayers and thoughts will be with you both.

Hi,

My thoughts and prayers go out to your aunt for a very successful surgery and quick recovery.

Cheers,
Michelle

Thanks everyone for their prayers and well wishes.
I spoke to my Aunt and her surgery is going to be first thing in the morning.
They still may replace 2 valves. It all depends on how the old aorta valve looks once hes in there. Got to go. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

Life is just going to fast.
I was away for 3 weeks in February.
When i came back my friends husband was in the hospital in a coma.
She lives 3 houses away from me. Hes in a nursng home now. The house 2 doors down. Her husband was in the hospital also. He died Saturday.
Going to a funeral mass in the morning. My dad is having a echo on his heart and leg on 4/1/08, cause they think he needs a stent in his leg. Hes 87. Anyway its been alot of scary stuff to deal with. Again thanks for all the prayers.
My aunts surgery is early in the morning. She was supposed to be a 2 pm but they moved her up. Shes happy to get it overwith early. I'll check in again when I know more.

You know theres alot of love in this place. :p
Goodnite

Oh Nancy........ so very sorry to hear all your bad news. You certainly have been hit with a lot in recent days. Sending cyber hugs your way.

Please let us know how your aunt's surgery is going; how she is going.
Sending all good thoughts.

Well I finally heard that she came throught the surgery. Which didn't start till about 1:30 pm.
So she is over the first hurddle. I spoke to her grandaughter.
Anyway, they repaired her tricupid valve and replaced the aorta.
All i know is my cousins (her 2 children were waiting to see her or they are probably with her) shes sedated. I'll know more tomorrow.
So far so good.

here is the update from this morning from my cousin

Thanks for all your prayers. She seems to be holding her own. It was a long surgery ? 7 hours. They replaced her aortic valve and were able to repair the tricuspid valve. Doctor said she was doing well. I called ICU this morning and they said she is off the sedation medications and is awake. They have not taken her off the ventilator yet because she is on a lot of medications that require her to stay on the ventilator. Once the doctor comes in to see her, they will begin to reduce those meds and then take her off the ventilator, but I don?t know what time that will be.

All in all, the nurse said she is doing very well and had a restful night. Will keep you posted.

Thanks again.
Diane
Again thanks for all the prayers, Nancy

It sounds good, Nancy!
That was a long surgery to endure.
I hope all continues to go well.

Nancy,
So glad to hear your aunt made it through the operation. Hopefully they can get her off the ventilator soon. That in itself will make a big difference! Take care & keep us posted on her progress! :)

Thanks for the update, Nancy. We look forward to hearing that she is off the vent and doing well soon. Glad that they were able to repair the tricuspid.
