For our members in Fla....Yaps and Ann(Hensylee)...Cindy is dumping lots of rain..but they don't know about Dennis, yet... They say it will be the weekend before they know about Dennis... May turn into a hurricane??when it enters the gulf of mexico... Buckle down and stay safe..Bonnie

My poor daughter and her little family are on a cruise ship right where the storm is. She wrote me yesterday from Cozumel (the Internet cafe) to tell me that they were safe, but the course of the cruise had to be changed. The storm looks much worse today. I can't imagine how difficult it's going to be to get back to her port in Florida by next weekend.

She said it was rough waters.

I hate to hear that....Kameron is in Cancun.. But, a Large resort...Been watching the weather there..Lots of rain today..but clear tomorrow..I am really afraid of Dennis... Looks like it could hit anywhere???Large cone they are showing...Do you mean..this weekend??Where is their Port in Fla?....Bet it is East side..which means they will probably be rocking and rolling.. Probably will have to dye my hair blonde, too..before he gets back to Georgia.. :D Right now, It's turning Gray.. :D I gave him $300.00 and he promised me he would spend a little money on the internet..to e-mail me..NOT.. Bonnie

Considering the storms we had while vacationing in Tarpon Springs this past week, I am not surprised at all to hear about the tropical storms that kicked up. The storms we had were obviously tropical (although smaller) with eyes and everything.

I am glad to be out of there and back home in grayed sky Ohio. These are the times I really miss California.

Please be safe everyone.

Its nasty out today, and Ive a dr appt in morning..yuck..... dennis ... its not going to be good week...

I'll pass on the hurricane, thanks. We already had a small one and that was our limit for the season.

This is the busiest season this early - on record. Daughter and I won't be here for these two. We are going to Newnan for 2 days - (maybe more???). Might get stuck there! Cindy is a small one and may bring rain; we expect to be traveling in it tomorrow. Coming home Sunday - maybe right into Dennis????? On the positive side, we need the rain badly.

FLASH!!! Dennis is going west, has 65 mph winds and map brings it straight to MY HOUSE! (and Yaps') I am just seeing it! DANG AND DANG AND DANG. Aw - heck and all those other words. We won't be able to get home. Oh CRAP!

Hi Hens and Bon

Just heard the news this morning.....they're predicting that Cindy will pass over Atlanta tonight with up to 6 inches of rain.....Bon, be glad you live on a mountain, girlfriend!!

Also heart that Dennis' expected path will be over the panhandle......Hens and Yaps, take care.

Oh to be young again!

One of my boys has been in New Orleans since last week. He called at noon yesterday to say they were headed home. I asked if they were getting any rain; he said "No, are you?" I said, "No, but we're not in the middle of a tropical depression either." He said, "Who's in a tropical depression?"
I said, "You are! Haven't you watched any weather?" He said, "Why would I want to watch weather while I'm in New Orleans?"

That pretty well ended the conversation. I can't argue with 22 year old logic.
And thank goodness, he did come rolling in last night.

Son left in nick of time..I watched a live interview with a weather person in New Orleans..showed last night heavy rain..streets flooded and thousands without power... Ann..What will you do with Miss Sally Sue I know she hates storms. :( :( Ev..I'm glad we live on top of amountain, too... :D Towns below us are already having flash flood warning from last week's rains...Creeks overflowing, ect. Bonnie

Miss SS is already at the vet hotel ensconced in her own private room. She is already scared to death of that, and if there is thunder, she will simply pass out altogether. But I have faith in my vet and his staff. They will take good care of her. She'll be mad when I go get her, but then once the car drives over the railroad tracks she'll know she's almost home and her attitude will become a happy one again. She's SUCH a homebody. A scardy cat, too.

We are having rain off and on and some winds, even tho TV says Cindy is already up in Alabama. It's the tag behind rain, I guess. But we do need it badly.

I live south of Atlanta near Newnan. I guess I will have a messy drive into work in the morning. The storm is predicted to travel the exact path I take to work. The last I heard it was suppose to start raining here around 2 A.M. I leave for work at 6:00 and after 28 years of living here I know how well everyone drives in the rain and don't even let it snow a flake. No one can drive. I live the furtherest from work and one winter I was the only one to get to work when it snowed a few inches.

Dennis

Dennis

It appears to me that Dennis has already made his reservation in Gulf Shores, and of course the gulf is packed with vacationers.. only 1 way out going north on 59, or west on 98... traffic will be an exodus, soooo I may ride thru Dennis...will send daughter & grandkids north and John and I will ride.... :)

may not get you, Yaps. The predictability of any hurricane is that it is unpredictable. But if it does come to your door, we will be in bad shape because the worst winds are on the east side. Ugh. Hate those winds. They never seem to stop. Hope our house is here when we get home.

I have tried 3 different ways to e-mail you..Wanted to update you for the drive into Ga...but all 3 were sent back????Will try to PM you on VR..Bonnie

Bonnie the gdsys addresses are no good - use the defuniak.com one - cept I am not there. I am at Linda's. We came up in beautiful weather but found that the preceding rains had ruined the grand car racing stadium here. Talk of the tornadoes was all over Newnan yesterday. I overheard many conversations as the girls dragged me round from here to yon.

I guess Dennis is next headed right for my house and Yaps house and Bill's house. Or my son's in Sarasota. Surely, it's headed for somebody's house and I hate that. Ivan was bad enough but this one is twice as strong and we should all fear it. Hurricanes are NOTHING to kid about, so any of y9ou who are in its path - or on its east side, take care of yourselves and your property. Do everything they tell you to do on TVand in the papers. Then STAY wherever you decide to spend the storm hours.

Hi Hensy, Granbonny, Yaps, and everyone down south...

Hi Hensy, Granbonny, Yaps, and everyone down south...

I hope y'all will be safe and snug as a bug in a rug if this hurricane should hit you. Gosh, the south sure has taken a beating with hurricanes and tornadoes this past year. Stay Safe, Be Well, and Keep Up The Humor....Harrybaby :D :D :D

We live near Newnan and really got hit hard by Wednesdays night storms from T.S. Cindy. We got 6 1/2 inches rain and a Tornado hit a 1/2 mile from us. But,didn't do much damage. I work for Clayton County and the Tara Airport is still unusable at this time and the poor Atlanta Raceway is trashed. All those beautiful condos. They hope the raceway is repaired by Octobers race. My husband always takes our granddaughter to that one. I guess we're in from more bad weather from Dennis. They are predicting heavy winds and more rain for us. I hope everyine in Fla. is safely away from there by now or you've at least battened down the hatches.
