People find it hard to believe, but Northern New Mexico--at least in the high mountains-has a monsoon , or rainy season. For us, it happens when big clouds like this slide over the top of the Mesa & smack into Mount Redondo )"our" mountain. We can sometimes see the temperature drop 20 degrees in 15 minutes. The power of these clouds to drop rain, hail, & temperatures-is amazing.
