...and I'm sure most people might think that's a bad thing, but--she is getting better! After another three-week stint at USC, Mom was transfered to a much more local home (a mile from my place) where she is getting intensive physical therapy, eating better, and regaining her strength.

But... she isn't entirely out of danger yet. Because Mom hasn't been strong enough for chemo, the surgeon says her prognosis deteriorates with every day, week, month she hasn't started cancer treatment.

Please continue to keep her in your prayers. I told her I had a bunch of friends at VR praying for her, and she smiled.

Love,
Debi

hurts a lot to see our mothers deteriorate. It's good to know your mother is making some progress. She is in my prayers. In the nursing home, she is receiving loving care. Just give her as much love as you can and as often as you can.

I'm glad that it is helping. Anything that helpsis a good thing.

Years ago my mom broke her hip and after surgery went to a nursing home for PT. We were amazed that she adjusted very rapidly. She was suffering from Parkinson's dementia but still was obviously pleased with where her room was. She had a huge shade tree outside her window and watched the breeze in the leaves and rested better than she had had in a long time. I hope your mom finds something there that gives her as much pleasure.
