We had a mini tornado last night in Fleedwood, it caused damage to around 50 houses, dont know all the details, it was about a mile from our house. . Its the first one weve had. It's nothing towards most of them but still pretty scarey, the weather is bad tonight, just hoping one doesn't deside to come by our house.

Tornadoes are pretty unusual in the UK, aren't they? In our neck of the woods we're pretty used to warnings, but thank God we've never been hit. They scare me to death (I had nightmares from the "Wizard of Oz" all through my childhood). Glad you and yours are all right.

It went straight through my friends back garden and shook their house - they live in barrow - scary stuff!

Tornados are frightening..hurricanes spawn many..hope everyone is ok, love Yaps

I think we may have had the wind at the edge of the tornado in Chester too - nothing dangerous but VERY windy all night!

There was a tornado in Southport a few years ago - on the same weekend as the annual 24-hour race (dinghy sailing) - I've seen photos but wasn't there myself fortunately - imagine being in a small wooden boat and getting caught up in a tornado  . Fortunately nobody was hurt.

Nobody was hurt in Fleetwood, they say it's because it only lasted 60 seconds.Saw the pictures in the paper today, it caused quite a lot of damage, for such a short time. The weather was quite bad last night, but nothing happened, that i know of anyway. Hopefully it was just a one off.

I didn't think they had Tornado's anywhere but in the U.S. living in the Midwest, we deal with them all the time. They've gone with in a mile or so of the house and I've seen several but never any damage. Glad your Ok.
