Just wanted to say I'm not sure I will be able to get online tomorrow....so I am saying now that I'll write again when I am on the other side of this mountain....AVR is scheduled for 9am Wednesday morning in Pittsburgh, PA.....I am feeling very positive about the outcome...just hate the thought of the endo tube and NG tube that they keep telling me I will have to tolerate for a while....sometimes I wish I wasn't a nurse....I know toooo much. I don't want the drugs but I know I will have to have some of it. I know I will be fine. I have lots of guardian angels looking after me...especially my Mom. I can't thank you all enough. You all have been a Godsend to me.....answering all my questions and reading everyone else's problems and resolutions have helped me sooooo much....You are all appreciated so much. God bless you all.

Try to relax and trust in the process. Everyone is trained to help you through. I too feared all the tubes, I am an OTR and also know enough to scare myself. None of it was difficult, but it is weird to be on the other side of the desk, (or bed rail). They really don't leave in all the tubes for very long. The goal is to get you up and moving. The best feeling in the world was waking up, tubes or not and seeing my family. Good luck, smooth trip and you will be in my thoughts and prayers. I was told that I am now a member of a special club that not many people get to join. It will be great to hear about your experience too.

Jeri - Best of luck on your trip over the mountain. We know you'll do just fine, but we also realize that it can be a scary process.

We will be here awaiting your progress reports from "this" side of the mountain.

Godspeed.

I hadn't been onsite for several weeks but wondered if you'd had your surgery yet.
You have my very best wishes also; take care :)

Take care Jeri!

I know I had an NG tube because my husband told me. But it was out way before I became aware of anything. The trach I wanted OUT, my husband talked me through some breathing excercises & got the ICU nurse to take it out. With the meds they give with surgery NOTHING hurt me the 1st day.

May your angels watch over & keep you safe tomorrow - Daiva
