Hello everyone
This spring on March 16, 2014, a group of heart patient runners and friends will meet in Cincinnati once again for the annual Mercy Health Heart Mini, co-sponsored by the American Heart Association.

Distance options are 5K, 15K and half marathon. This event has become an informal tradition for some of us. We meet at a restaurant for dinner on Saturday, run on Sunday morning, then convene at the Cincinnati McCormick and Schmick’s restaurant at the finish line, which hosts a very nice complimentary VIP brunch (VIP = heart patient, a designation you specify when you register). The race additionally honors and recognizes heart patients with a special “Red Cap” division. It’s a well-run event and great course in any case, but also a worthy fundraiser and social event. Check out the video below (with comments from our own Red Capper “tprice54” at 0:34).

We will be establishing a team and providing additional details as we get closer to March, but for now I wanted any of you who are potentially interested to think about joining us. You can follow our discussions and planning at the HEART forum:

I’d also like to extend an invitation to join HEART, a no-cost community of heart patients with diverse conditions who share a passion for active lifestyles. Several of our members also belong to valvereplacement.org.

We hope you will consider joining us on the weekend of March 15/16, 2014, and/or joining HEART.
