I have a gold bracelet I wear, but I only wear it when I go out. At the house I have all my information posted for emergency cases. I got my bracelet at American Heart Asso. and it goes with everything.

My sister is an Ambulance officer and says that these ID bracelets or necklaces are something they always look for on patients. It doesnt have to even be the special medic-alert brand...

Yes, I also make some jewelry, but I figured that if I have a stretchy type that's easy to slip on,
then it could very well be just as easy to slip off in an accident.
I'm the over-protective type....can you tell?:D

Okay, how can I say this and sound supportive and not accidentally make you feel like a dork....

Because once I say this, you will slap your forehead like Homer Simpson and say "Doh!"

Okay, here goes:

You are allowed to own more than one piece of medical ID jewelry!

There! I said it, and I'm glad!

So, for example, you could wear a solid one when you're out and about, and have a stretchy one by your bed. Heck, you could have a stretchy one in every room of your house so that you don't have to wear a clasp one all the time while you're at home. You know, just in case you really hate to wear something all the time.

And even if you decide that stretchy is too risky, you can make several different clasp bracelets, so you'll have something that looks nice when you go out. Because while we should all be proud of our scars, there is no excuse for ugly jewelry!

Thanks for everyones reply, I am now convinced I need to wear one. I think I'll get a nice one and call it a Christmas present, to me.
