Today marks my 6 month post op anniversary.
Even though somedays I feel good , I do have fluctuations.
I knew that when I had my surgery it was not going to immediately
repair the damage done to my rt. atrium and ventricle, that my surgery
was more to prevent further damage , damage that was caused by
waiting too long to have the VR. I think I was hoping that I could
avoid surgery altogether. What is worse, I believe that my surgeon
felt the same way.In spite of this my last echo did show some
improvement in that some of the dilation of the rt side has lessened
and the regurg is only trace on the replaced valve. I was assured
that this was within normal limits and accepted this as true.
The best of all was my ability to walk up 2 flights of stairs at a
moderately fast pace a couple days ago, It truly is the amazing how
grateful one can be with such a simple thing.
I wanted to thank all those here who have helped me-
directly and indirectly, and even though I didnt find this site until my
post-op period,I feel this community is helpful to my recovery in
many ways.
Thanks again, and my best wishes to all--Dina:)

I just got back from vacation and did alot of hiking thought my valves would act up but everything went well. I'll be showing pictures later. We went to Yellowstone and the elavation there was about 8500 to 9000. Saw some beautiful country. Like you were in another world. (well I'm use to the desert) Congratulations on 6 months.:D
