Marie

I have been following your site for several weeks and have been very inspired by the information which everyone shares with each other. Today I ask that each of you keep me in your prayers as I am having avr early Monday a.m. The anxiety is overwhelming before this surgery but I feel confident that everything will be o.k. Thanks Marie

Best Wishes Marie

Best Wishes Marie

Hello Marie,
You will be in our thoughts and prayers for your surgery tomorrow.
The anxiety can be quite overwhelming.
Before you know it, you will be back at home
letting us know that you are ok.
Very best wishes for a speedy recovery
Ernie & Wendy

I'm sorry we've not had more time with you before you had to go in, although you did post about a week ago on another thread. You are on our calendar. Please be sure to let us know when you are home recovering.

Many of us come upon a great calm shortly before surgery, which I believe may be a result of accepting that it is out of our hands. I hope you reach that peace by Monday.

You will be in my thoughts as I go to work. I will be hoping for a smooth procedure, and an unremarkable recovery (in doctor lingo, that means one without any setbacks).

Best wishes,

We'll all be thinking of you and waiting to hear how things went. Please go into surgery knowing that the surgeons who do this know all about everything inside of the heart. They are in and out of hearts several times per day. You will be taken care of by the very best the hospital has to offer, you will be in for, on average, 5-7 days, that's all, and then home to recover in familiar surroundings.

Your heart can be fixed up, that's what makes this so wonderful. Many other diseases have no fixes.

So Happy Birthday to your new heart!

Hi Marie

Hi Marie

I read your profile and see where you are a great-grandmother :D I'm sure your extended family will be there for you...after, you come home. Did you have time to get a recliner?....Also, noticed you have dogs. Be sure and don't let them get too excited when your return home and jump up on you... :p We have many members from Co....We will be thinking of you on Monday. :) Bonnie

Welcome Marie!
We know exactly what you are feeling. Most of us have all experienced it. I'm sure your family wishes that you didn't have to go through it, not for their sakes, but for yours. But aren't we glad that they can fix people like us??? :)

The surgery has a very very high success rate. Having lived a rich life, I'm sure you'll find that there have been other things you've gone through that will be considered harder, or more distressing. Think of this as taking your engine in for a new part. It will make you run better you'll be able to race the young ones around soon.

Hey Marie,
Welcome to this Great Site. Nice to see another from Colorado. You will enjoy being a part of this Wonderful Family. I hope you have someone that will keep us posted.
Take Care and Best of Luck

Marie,

You will most certainly be in my prayers. Once your able, please do not hesitate to ask questions during your recovery. Others have helped me see that the things that I have experienced are common to many, many others who have had the surgery. It helps to know that we have others around who can identify with what we are going through.

I've been there myself!

I've been there myself!

Hi Marie, I've already had three mitral valve replacements, and I'll need to have another one some time from now. I know exactly how you're feeling at this very moment. However, this site has helped many members through this such tough time and I hope it has helped you too. Just being able to talk about our fears with people who can really understand and relate to us makes an enormous difference. As well as that, we learn enough here to get a degree in medicine. Being well informed makes you feel more confident, thus, better emotionally prepared. I wish you all the best for this coming Monday and you can count on my prayers to help you get through this. Take care and try to remain calm.
Débora
