MadsDad

She is acting more and more like her old self with each passing hour. Here is a picture of her riding her tricycle in the driveway 30 minutes ago.

She is absolutely beautiful. God really has blessed you. I wish that beautiful little girl and her parents all the luck in the world. Peggy (another Madisons' nana)

Ok, that did it!

I've been able to avoid the post-OHS "crying" thing until now, but the pic of Madison, outdoors and enjoying life only 6 days post-op, just made me break down and cry! :(

*slaps self in face a few times*

OK, Dad, she looks ready to go! Where's her safety helmet? :D

You can bet she will wear a safety helmet

You can bet she will wear a safety helmet

when she gets a bike with training wheels. She should probably wear one on her trike also. She is a doll. She says her incision doesn't hurt at all. I just hurts her back when she coughs. I would still be in the bed feeling sorry for myself.

What an absolutely adorable child.

What an absolutely adorable child.

I've just read the thread about your little girl. What a wonderful child. It's amazing how they can (apparently) just roll with the flow through stuff like this. My 20 year old son is facing heart surgery... that's pretty hard to take... I don't know how I would have made it through it, had it happened to him at 4 years old.
I've found strength I didn't know I had, when I'm faced with some of this stuff.

Best wishes

Hi there MadsDad,

What a gorgeous little girl and so brave. Children bounce back quickly and before you know it you won't even realize that she has had OHS.
Hope all the good things keep on coming. She deserves it!
Keep your chin up Dad. She's doing great so to see.

Hi

Hi

Hi MadsDad
She is so beautiful!!!! and she looks wonderful. I'm 29 and just underwent OHS in NY just 7 weeks ago and I sure didn't look that great 6 days post. I'm so thrilled that everything is going well for her. I am sure you are relieved.I wish her a long and healthy life.

:D That picture just warms my heart on this cold, blustery day. May God continue to bless you and your little fighter.

Hi Madsdad

You're right.....GOD IS GOOD, ALL THE TIME!! Just look at that sweet face and you have to know it!

I'm so glad she's doing so well.

Evelyn

Golly -- how much past surgery did you say that little sweetie-pie is? Not a care in the world, you would think .... looking at that photo.

But kids are SOOOO resilient. I had major vascular surgery -- two ops -- at ages five and six. Second one to fix what they didn't fix first time around. The thing I always remembered is that afterwards at the hospital they let me have as much ice cream as I wanted. I'm sure that the person who really suffered through those surgeries was my mom.

It makes the few needles in my prostate tomorrow seem pretty insignificant to see her 6 days post op outside playing.

hi madsdad!
i haven't been here for awhile, but finally had the chance to read madison's story..
what a wonderful outcome for such a brave little girl. you must be so proud of her; she is just the cutest little thing.
i was so amazed, while reading your threads, at how positive she is.
you and madsmom must have done/be doing something right.
enjoy and be well,
sylvia

She looks great! Now after reading your threads I know what my parents went through with me. I had my coartation repaired at age 4. I heard I recovered quite quickly at that age too. Much quicker than this time. Best of luck to you. You have a beautiful little girl!

what an angel

what an angel

she is an angel i wish her every happiness and good fortune its great she is doing so well

Damn! Wish I had been able to ride a tricycle at six days post-op.

You got a really cute kid there, take care of her and watch her grow.

Madison: Way to go kiddo! =)

Thanks for sharing mom, good luck to you both! =)

Wow. I had to re-read your post a few times. I am so amazed. It makes you wonder why kids are so resilient and bounce back so quickly. the phrase ignorance is bliss comes to mind. Maybe when it's my turn, if I pretend it is no big deal I can be riding my tricyle 6 days post op!

Dad you must be busting with pride. She's a sweetie!

Im totally amazed at this girl. I know God had a hand in that somewhere. I encourage all adults that had OHS to stay off your tri-cycles. Especially Bill.

Lee,

Is that a challenge! If Madison can ride a trike post-op, so can I. Photo to follow!
