Ross, you asked 'May I ask which machine he has', and I had to look, did not remember. It is an InRatio2. It works fine for him, but the design of it such that when we tried to use it for me, I was not producing an adequate sample. At the med center 'Coumadin clinic' there is no difficulty whatsoever in testing me, whether due to superior equipment or skill of testing person, or both. :)

Strange. The INRatio2 takes a very small sample. Maybe we need to stick you toe? hehe

All I'm saying is, unless the clinic has the exact same machine and you both use the same lot number of strips, your comparing apples to oranges.

LOL on the "Strange. The INRatio2 takes a very small sample. Maybe we need to stick you toe? hehe ". My Husband said he was thoroughly trained on it, yadda yadda, however I did notice that some of the way he wanted to do the sequence of steps the first time we used it for me, it was different than the instructions. (We women like to read instructions, LOL.) The other 2 times, what would happen is my finger would produce a little sample, and perhaps he tried to put it on the testing strip too soon, and it would start running down the channels in the test strip, but not sufficient to be read. I forget the name of what they use at the so-called 'Coumadin clinic' but I know the Case Manager guy that runs that has to squeeze my finger about 3 times, scraping off the drops into a little catching gizmo. (sorry for not having right terminology)

Sounds like you need capillary tubes to collect the sample in. Pretty sure that's what your thinking of.
