*sighs*

I know ya'll are helping ... so, I definitely appreciate it.

Maka,
That CHIP, from what I learned anyway, is only available when you are no longer eligible for COBRA ... which I would have for 18 months after I leave my current job.

And, from all of the pointers/notes/etc., I seem to be doing things the way I'm supposed to ... just getting very very frustrated ... to the point where I just might quit where I am and take my chances. I've lost out on several jobs because I haven't been able to work out an interview before or after work. And, because of my illness in December/early January, I'm on the "watch list" for time off...aye.

I'm trying very hard to be positive, but as of late, I'm very frustrated ... overwhelmed ... uneasy and downright tired ... of everything. Heh...perhaps I should've just stayed offline...........

*shakes head*

Again ... kudos to all of you for helping out here...I appreciate your posts, perhaps more than you know.

Poor Cort... :( I'm sending you a virtual hug. (((( :D ))))

I sure wish it were possible to make things easier on you from way down here. Sometimes life just stinks, doesn't it? Just try your best to muddle through this tough time. Experience tells me that things will turn around eventually (sometimes it just takes a LOT longer than we'd like).

Love and hugs,

Cort
I don't know whether I can do this, but I copied and pasted this from the web site I mentioned about CHIP.....to the rest of the group, if I'm not supposed to copy web sites, please forgive...and let me know for the future.
You may be right but I did not see any mention of COBRA
Maka

Eligible persons under Section 7

Plan 3 is for persons not enrolled in Medicare. It provides benefits through preferred providers, both hospital and physician, from among the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois providers. A preferred provider must be used in order to receive maximum benefits.

Illinois residents may qualify if they meet one of the following criteria:

If they have applied for individual health insurance and have been rejected because of a pre-existing condition;

If they have an individual policy that is substantially similar to CHIP which costs them more than they would pay for CHIP coverage; or

If they have one of 31 presumptive medical conditions, i.e., conditions presumed to result in automatic rejection by an insurance company.

Based on the amount of state money that is available to subsidize this insurance program, the Board of Directors of CHIP is required to close or limit enrollment in the Traditional CHIP (Section 7) pool in order to ensure that we have sufficient resources to meet our obligations to existing participants. Ahhh...Niki, thank you! Very much appreciate the virtual hugs! Hugs always make the day better ;) he he he. I whole-heartedly (pun intended) agree about life stinking sometimes ... but, if it didn't, we wouldn't appreciate the good times as much. Course, it'd be nice to have more good times, tho....heh.

Maka,

Thanks for posting that ... you're right ... no mention of COBRA there. Hmmm....very very interesting.

Since I "moaned" a lot ... here is a bit of a bright spot....

Next week, I hope to sign a contract to do at least 4 radio shows on the local radio station here. If things work out, they'll be for 3 hours each Friday night in April. Unfortunately, I'll be paying for the shows ... but, it's something I've been wanting to do for the last 10 years since I ended college.... So, we'll see ... if it goes through, I'll start a new thread ;).

Well, at least that is good news...............

Cort's that cool about the radio shows! You'll do great; you've got the right personality for that (that is a compliment, in case you wondered). I hope it goes well for you. Best wishes.

*grins*

Ya'll cannot begin to imagine how excited I am about the prospect of doing a radio show ... even if it means I'm paying for it. He he he

Janet, it'll be a "short and sweet" announcement type post ;). And, hugs right back at ya.

Wise, thank you for the compliment! The test will be if anyone gives me or the radio station any feedback. I know a lot of people where I went to school were sad to see me graduate ... because they no longer heard me on the radio ... he heh.

*shrugs*

Guess we'll see ;).

Radio shows..how wonderful. It sounds so exciting. Can wait to read the new postings...let us know what they'll be all about...what's the subject? have you looked into getting an sponsor or advertisers that can relate to the show subject? maybe soome small local business that can use some adveritsing but can't afford the "big" stations?
Good luck.....hope this opens more doors to your future

*grins*

Actually, there are no "topics" ... it's going to be a music show ;) ... some country, some rock :)

No advertisers yet, so it will be very expensive for me ... but, worth it, since I've been wanting to do this for over 10 years...heh.

And, thank you ... sure hope it does open some doors ... sure would be nice :)!

Cort,

Have a great time with your show and I will pray that someone picks up on how great you are and makes this a permanent thing (with someone other than you paying for it).;) :D ;)

Thank you ... definitely appreciated!

Heh...I don't think I can even begin to describe how excited I am about this possibility....he he he.

But, I'll try to elude to it when I make the "official" announcement ... don't want to completely count the chickens before the contract is signed ;).
