...highway!

I've been "lurking" for a bit since I got back home.... I've been
reading as much as I can...and, as always, keep you all in my
thoughts & prayers....

I got home early Sunday morning (Aug 17), but coming home is a [fill in the blank], especially when the "to do" list started out about a mile long & seems to remain that way despite accomplishing a few things on it...or something like that...LOL! Luckily, the '79 & '81 MCs passed emissions tests on Tuesday!

My road trip was AWESOME...& I'm ready to go again :). My '87 MC LS (RWD, 305 V8 with 109+K miles now) treated me right. I traveled about 2700 miles, with an average mpg of 25.61...highest = 29.55; lowest = 20.54 (in the PA/VA hills). With the A/C on Saturday on the drive up through IL, the mpg was 21.59.

My route found me in:

Goshen IN (Wed, Aug 6) to visit with college friends
Sidenote: Aug 6 was the 7-month anniversary of my most-recent
surgery, January 6, 2003. I think I celebrated it perfectly ;)

Port Huron, Warren & Detroit areas of MI (Thurs, Aug 7 & morning Fri, Aug 8) to visit with fellow 1st, 3rd & 4th gen MC owners

Near Akron OH (Fri, Aug 8) to visit with college friends

Near Johnstown PA (Sat & Sun, Aug 9-10) for a family reunion

Pittsburgh PA (Sun, Aug 10) to visit with fellow 1st gen MC owners

Near Harrisonburg VA (Mon & Tue, Aug 11-12) to visit friends

Nashville TN (Wed, Aug 13)

Jackson TN (Thu, Aug 14) to visit with college friends & a fellow 1st gen MC owner

Big Sandy TN (Fri, Aug 15) to visit friends of our family

Freeport IL area (Sat, Aug 16) to visit a fellow 1st gen MC owner & watch his cousin race at the dirt track races in Freeport....he won!

Heh...I'm not sure I like being back home, but work (arg) & my older 4 MCs (woohoo) are calling my name. I already know that I'm going to plan & do more weekend trips this coming fall, perhaps the weekends of Sept 19-21, Oct 24-26, Oct 31-Nov 2, Nov 21-23 & Dec 12-14. As for next summer...who knows...perhaps I'll travel to visit friends (& some family) that live west of the Mississippi River ;).

Welcome home Cort. Did you honk on Aug 8th?

I got 2 Av's ready for you to post. Just waiting for you to put one of them up. hint hint. ;)

Dave...they most certainly are :). And yep, the to do list did wait...I got a bit more accomplished tonite, but it's been "one of those weeks" ... LOL.

Ross...thank you :). And, actually, yes I did honk. But, sadly, I think it was most-likely because some Ohio driver opted to cut me off on I-71 heading south ... LOL. As for the AVs, yes, I know.... I did try to get one that Steve had Emailed me set up before I left, but I could never get it to work......maybe I'll take some time this weekend or early next week to see if I can get it to work :).

Been quiet this weekend....trying to get the avatar to work & trying to relax about some new health insurance "costs"/issues that are coming up for 2004. I'll try to post about those sometime this week...once it all sinks in...LOL.

As for the avatar, ARG! I couldn't get it to work, Ross...I am sorry...not sure what I'm doing wrong :(. So, if you don't mind, please work your magic...use the pic of me looking sideways at the camera....the other one has a glare of the flash on it.....thank you :).
