Here at VR.com we constantly are referring to climbing the "Mountain". I personally think this is a great analogy. I just have one problem with it. Most mountains have a name and since this is probably the biggest mountain most of us will ever climb I think it too needs a name. What do you guys think? I haven't come up with a name but thought with all the creative folks we have here we could come up with a suitable name.

Let me know what your thoughts are.

Rick

Many of the directions that are given around here are not written but descriptive. Example: the dirt driveway following the yellow house on the road to Cameron. If we don't come up with a good "name" name then we could refer to it as the mountain with the fast truck at the bottom on the road to wellness?

Betty, that's exactly how we give directions here - my house is: turn right at boyscout rd, go over the railroad tracks, an immediate right, 3rd house down, watch for paper box with number on it, my house is up in those pines at the end of the long driveway.

I will hunt a name for the mountain -

My vote is Hawaii's "Mauna Kea," the tallest mountain/volcano in the world. Here's more info:

The volcano has not been active in more than 4,000 years. People, however, have been active on top of Mauna Kea for many years. Skiing is popular up there, as is astronomical observation.

Atop the mountain is the world-famous Mauna Kea Observatory, the highest astronomical observatory in the world. Here, scientists enjoy the dry air and high elevation to peer into the far reaches of space, many times through the Keck Telescope, the largest optical telescope in the world.

It's considered a "dormant" volcano -- kinda appropriate for people like me who are under observation!

Cheers,

Your climbing your mountain, and your going to be the climber that will 'summit.' I vote you name the mountain, 'Mount Kiem'.

Here is what that mountain might look like.
This is the logo on the pillow that my surgeon gives out.

I like the sound of "Mt. St. Hellandback". I'm sure we will get some more good ones...

Well.... in my case...

Well.... in my case...

I was sooooo tired in the hospital after the surgery,( I could have used a transfusion, but my doc didn't believe in doing that unless it was absolutely necessary), that all I wanted to do was SLEEP.

It seemed that every time I tried to nap, they'd come in to check something... or poke me... or wake me up to give me a sleeping pill, .... or to take me to therapy:mad: . So... I think I'll call MY mountain "Mt. NEVER-REST"!
