Andrea

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am admitting to the hospital in the morning for my second valve replacement. They will have me on Heparin for five days and do the surgery on Wed at 9am.

Thanks to everyone for the support, knowledge and understanding. I couldnt have done this all without you.

All the best Andrea. I hope all goes well for you and I'll be sending plenty of positive thoughts your way.

Cheers and good wishes,
Anna : )

Hope you get this.....!

Hope you get this.....!

Best wishes and lots of luck on recovery.........!

Andrea,

I have been checking the board all week for news from you and was relieved to see your post. I wish you didn't have to go through this again, although we valvers know we "do what we have to do" and it is all for the best.

It sounds like the doctors have everything under control. You will be in my thoughts and prayers - in ALL of our thoughts and prayers.

God be with you every step of the way -

Christina L.

Andrea, good luck to you and you will be in my prayers. Please have someone post for you ASAP because we worry when someone is gone.

Andrea,

So sorry you have to go through this again, and so soon. We're all thinking of you and you will be in my prayers. I hope you take a lot of reading material for that boring 5 days on Heparin. Hospitals are bad enough when you're sick, but they're unbearable when you aren't even sick!

Best of luck with the surgery.

Think positive!

Think positive!

Good luck Andrea, see you on your way back. Hope someone posts here to let us know how you're doing! I'll be thinking of you on Wednesday.

Hey!!!

Hey!!!

They are letting me use the doc pc at the nurses station! Day two of the five day heparin drip. I have been getting great treatment but the techs drawing blood are horrible- my only complaint. I get drawn every 6 hours until my levels are where they should be. My DVD player was a great idea!

Anyways, just wanted to check in - surgery Wed :)

Best of luck

Best of luck

Wishing you well Andrea. You will do great keep a positive attitude.

Hello Andrea -

Ask the tech's to use a Butterfly needle or at least the smallest needle possible for their draws. Personally, my arms get pretty sore from lots of 'sticks'. When that happens, I tell them to use my HANDS. Supposedly the hands are more sensitive, but I have BIG veins there and nobody misses. To my mind, a quick stick in the hands is preferable to 'digging around' for a good vein in the arm / elbow region.

Keep the faith girl !

Best wishes, 'AL'

Do keep us posted. Have someone post after your surgery. We will worry until we hear the word that you are out of surgery.
