Hey all, I am now in my 6th week post op, joined (and an accredited visitor) Mended Hearts of Great Charlotte, and as soon as my volunteer application is approved by CMC, I can go talk to other OHS patients.
I was curious, when I bend over to tie my shoes, I get a pain or poking sensation(not sharp) in my stomach area just to the left side after the ribs end. I got my surgical notes and see I have 3 sternal Talons, could it just be the lack of "give" now in my sternum causing it?
Also, does anyone else ever feel like you don't "belong" in the OHS group, like you are doing so well, that people find it hard to believe? I mean, I am jogging for a minute at a time, walking 4-5 daily and swimming slowly for 30 minutes a couple times a day. I feel great, and have been listening to my body, when I am tired, I rest. I just some days don't feel like I belong... maybe too much time on my hands before I go back to work or maybe a bit of deppression?
I have lost 22 pounds since the day I came home, so I am sure my cardio will be please next week, but I am also sure he will be a little upset that I stopped taking the metoporal.. I was getting extremely achey arms and legs at night, to the point it was painful. He only put me on them 3 weeks out because I had PVC's really bad one day. I have not had them since that day. my resting rate w/o it is 65, and when I exercise, I rarely let it go over 145.
Thanks for letting me ramble!
