Can we arrange a live feed from CC? Thanks Christian for keeping us updated so quickly. You know how we stew and worry. I'm so glad that Colin's Mommy continues to do well.
Sounds like it's time to start baby number two...............heehee! Congrats on the repair....................THAT is always welcome news! Many hugs. J.
As Ross said (thanks Ross!), Dr. Cosgrove repaired Jill's valve and says there's no residual regurgitation. She was only on the pump for 45 minutes and her incision was "minimally invasive."
The breathing tube was removed before she woke up. She was only in ICU for 24 hours. She's now happily resting in a private room with her iPod -- both of which were suggested by you folks.
She's in some pain, but she's not too uncomfortable. No complications so far. Her heart rate is normal (65 bpm) and regular. Every single item of news that we've received to date has been perfect.
I'm on a laptop in the hotel and my fingers are too fat for its keyboard so I'll cut this narrative short for now. Thank you all so much for the kind words and wishes. Hopefully Jill will find a PC and pop in soon.
Great to hear from you Christain. As you can see, we were all avidly following the updates from Ross. So glad to hear she is resting comfortably and enjoying the IPod. She should be walking the halls soon and we send her our very best wishes for a speedy and uneventful recovery.
So glad things are going so smoothly. Thanks so much for keeping us updated so quickly. Now if I could just lose the weight I gained during Jill's pregnancy!
It sounds like Jill is having a smooth recovery. My heartrate still isn't 65 almost 5 months postop!
I'm so glad everything is going well. A repair and minimally invasive surgery are sure good to hear!
So glad to hear that everything is going so smoothly for Jill thus far. I'm sure it will continue that way. She is young and otherwise healthy. She is going to be fine.
So glad you got that private room right off the bat. I'm sure Jill could not WAIT to get out of the ICU!
hi christian,
you must both (all) be so relieved that the surgery is behind you.
i was so glad to hear that jill is doing well. wishing her a continued uneventful and speedy recovery.
thanks for the updates.
be well, the both of you and colin,
sylvia
and Jill, Christian. I am almost 13 weeks post-op since my mitral repair and maze at the CCF.
Have you found the PC that is in the waiting room at the end of the hall that's there for the use of patients and family? You just have to beat the kids who get on there for hours playing games!
When I was there in August there was just a big hole in the ground where they are building the new heart center; you should really see a lot of action going on there now.
God bless you and Jill, so happy the worst is over; it's all uphill from here!!
Give Jill a big smooch from all her friends here on the VR forum! (Better keep Ross away from her though )
I am so happy things are progressing nicely for you two. She'll be making you keep up with her before you know it... Keep up the good work, and let her know we're thinking about her.
I found the PC at the end of the cardiac ward this morning, but it wasn't working correctly (internet access was off) and Colin was occupying my attention so I couldn't get it up and running.
Anyway, Jill's still doing great. No bumps yet. I told her about this thread and she's looking forward to reading it.
