Well everyone, I should be checking out on Sunday! Its so odd that I already feel better in so many aspects than I did befre. He repaired my 4+ regurg to 0! I am so excited and ready be abel to do things that 25 year olds can do without getting so tired. My root and sinus were much smaller than had been measured before the surgery so he said that should not be anything to wory about either although he did reinforce both of them. He is being very optomistic about my situation and said he would expect one more operation in my life to reach my full age potential but that he would not be supprised is I never need anything again! The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano has been fantastic I could not have asked for anything better. If anyone has any questions about Dr. Ryan or the Heart Hospital Baylor Plano please do not hesiatete to ask me! Any way I will be of for the next 6 weeks so I am sure I will have alot of questions for everyone.

Thanks
Jared

Great report. Take good care of yourself and post again when you can. It is so reassuring to hear these positive outcomes expecially those of us right behind you.

Hi everyone. I arrived home last night after an event free 5 days in the hospotal. Just had some pooping problems before they would let me go home :p I feel a little beat up but rebilt at the same time! I do have a question though. I am having these crazy hot flashes...like I will be wearing shorts and a t-shirt and have gose bumpbs but be sweating at the same time. The doc said it occurs alot in young people after surgery. Did anyone ever have anything like this?

Thanks
Jared

Welcome home!! I had the hot/cold thing for about a week. Your body has been through the mill, not to mention the drugs.

Glad all went so well. Eat, sleep and walk.

Yessiree you bet I did. One minute feeling like in a furnace and couple minutes later a freezer. It went away about a month or so into my recovery.

cold, then hot, then cold, then hot

cold, then hot, then cold, then hot

Hi Jared,
I haven't logged in for a few months --- but it has been two years (Jan10) since my Ross with Dr. Ryan so it reminded me to log in.

Glad to hear your surgery went well and that you are recovering nicely. Take it easy and don't try to be superman (yet!).

The hot/cold thing is really bizarre! I had the same thing for the first few weeks; Dr. Ryan told me that it was my body thermometer "re-calibrating" after my body temp was pulled so low during surgery. Totally normal.

Best of luck!

Jared!

WELCOME HOME!!!!

Heh ... I, too, had "pooping problems" before I could go home....

And, yep, had the hot/cold feelings, too. Not fun ... but, kinda humorous, too.....

Thoughts/prayers continue for a SUCCESSFUL recovery :).

Great news- hope you got to go home and look forward to hearing that you are having an uneventful recovery.

Outstanding news - Pooping challenges and hot/cold flashes; I had them both! Your body is adjusting. If I could mention just one thing, do what the medical folks tell you and not overdo. My shoulders and neck still hurt a bit and I am nine weeks post op and I just started a cardiac rehabilitation program (Heart monitored exercise is how I would describe it). Continued best wishes for an uneventful recovery! - Jim

P.S. And I have some sleeping issues.
